Story
Emma is a shy girl that has been born and raised in foster care. She has been spayed and is now ready to find her forever home. She is skittish at first, but loves a good bum scratch when she is comfortable with the humans she is around. Emma would love another feline in her home that will help bring her out of her shell. Her feline friend in the home would need to be passive and easy going as Emma can be dominate in her feline relationships. This cute ball of fur loves to bounce around chasing her toys and run through tunnels. She would be best in a home with older children (10+). Emma also loves a good cat tree, she enjoys being in high places! Emma does have chronic upper respiratory but currently does not require any treatment for this.

Story
These two girls are a bonded pair looking for their forever home! Callie Is more outgoing of the two and tends to greet you first. She loves being pet and loves to curl up in her bed. Callie loves food and would benefit from being on a diet to ensure she maintains a healthier weight. They should also be monitored during mealtimes to ensure that Billie is getting enough to eat as well. Billie is a sweet girl as well who can be a bit shy to start. She does rely on Callie to help her come out of her shell and be more outgoing. She is very sweet and loveable and loves to cuddle with Callie. Because Billie is a medium haired cat she will require brushing to prevent mats and hairballs in her coat. They have lived with dogs that were cat savy and respected their space and did do well with them. They also lived with a young child that was 5 years old and did well with them as well. They would likely do okay with another cat with a slow introduction.

Story
Mareep came to the shelter from an area with a colony of unsocialized cats. Staff could tell that although skittish and standoffish that with time, patience and work she would learn to trust humans and could be a good companion. A staff member took her home to foster and work with her in a more comfortable environment. She has done a wonderful job settling into a foster home and getting more comfortable with humans. She always approaches her foster mom and welcomes her into the room and even occasionally rubs up on her legs. She can still be shy and skittish of loud noises and commotion. She does enjoy being pet on the head with gentle pets, but can get overwhelmed with vigorous petting and can mouth when she gets overstimulated. She does not tolerate being picked up and prefers all four paws on the floor. She loves food and meal times and gets very excited. When she's comfortable and feels like nobody is watching she enjoys playing with her toys as well. Mareep is being fostered with other cats and does okay with the other foster cats in the room, but she can be a bit bossy and standoffish sometimes with them. We feel she would be happiest as the only cat in the home so she can be the queen of the castle without any hassle. Due to her skittish nature it is recommended that her new home has no dogs and older children 12+. Mareep is in foster care, if you are interested in adoption please contact the shelter to arrange for a date for her to be brought in for a meet and greet. Being a shy girl she likely won't show her true personality during a meet and greet, but her foster has lots of pictures and videos to show what she is like once she settles and gets know you.

Story
Acorn was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of her own. She is a very shy girl who is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She even seems to enjoy having her belly pet once she trusts someone! She is looking for a calm and low commotion home as she gets startled easily. She would do best as the only animal in a one or two person household so that the home wouldn't have much commotion and could bond closely with her people. She has lived with other cats and with a slow introduction may be okay with one in her new home. She did not do well in a home with children and dogs due to the commotion and loud noises. Acorn is a very sweet girl and we believe once she settles and trusts someone she is going to be a wonderful and sweet companion. I am currently in a foster home, please reach out the the Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward to schedule a meet and greet

Story
Mudskipper is a shy girl who hides for long periods of time. She is independent and and typically does her own thing. She is still learning to trust people and be confident around them and would do best with a home that can be patient and continue to work with making her comfortable. She would do best in a quiet and low commotion home. She seems to love playing with her toys, always rearranging her kennel every night while she plays. She has not yet been dog tested but would likely prefer a calm, quiet house without one. She has come from a home with other cats and might be comfortable and come out of her shell more with another one in the home. She would do best in a home with no children or quiet children 14+ due to her shy nature. Staff are still working with her to get to know her personality and help her blossom.
