Story
Brighteyes’ owner has abandoned her after she was bit by a dog. She is healthy and fully recovered. Brighteyes is 14 years old and overall a very well behaved and loving cat. She likes to warm laps, is a good snuggler, enjoys brushes, and likes to follow her people around wherever they go. Because of her age, Brighteyes is a good napper. She will tolerate other animals but she prefers to be a solo cat. Brighteyes also love car rides and to look around at whats going on outside. I think she would be perfect for a not very active individual/couple or one that liked to RV around. If you have any extra questions about Brighteyes please call Erica at (503)568-3411.

Story
Bonnie is a very sweet and loving kitty. We adopted her after her owner died. She was raised as a princess by her single, senior, owner, and deserves to be treated that way. She does not like having other pets in her house which is the problem. Our 14 year old cat is being constantly harassed by her. So is our dog. Bonnie’s favorite thing to do is sleep, other than eating. She is a lovely, sweet, cat (when she wants to be). Purrs like a freight train, cuddles/sleeps on the bed at night with you (or on you if you let her). The perfect home for Bonnie would be a retired household with no other pets. She does tolerate other animals, but she’s quick to become irritated. A single, senior gentleman, would be perfect for her!

Story
By appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, adopt-a-pet, rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org. Please answer the questions below in your response. Meet Mickie, he is 11wks old, neutered male. Mickie was saved from a busy road by a Good Samaritan, they realized instantly something was wrong as it appeared he was having tremors. It was late in the day and they rushed him to our shelter, we are no longer taking kittens but we couldn't say no to this little guy. Mickie went home with our shelter manager for 24/7 care, when he 1st arrived he was blind and his head tremor was easily seen. He was started on medications and within a few days, his vision was back and the head tremor was less noticeable. Mickie may have the head tremor for the rest of his life, but it doesn't stop him, he plays, purr's and eats like a regular kitten. He is a goofy, feisty, loving little kitten, who is best friends with a Chihuahua and a large dog. He loves to play, so an active home is a must for him. Adoption fee is $150, this includes neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccines, felv/fiv testing, dewormer, flea medication and a 1lb bag of kitten food. A few questions: 1. Are you ready for an active kitten? 2. How many animals and types do you have? 3. How many humans and ages live in your home? 4. Have you had a special needs animal before, if so please tell us about them.

Story
Meet Bianca, she is a spayed female, almost 6yrs old, she was adopted from us in 2019. Bianca has had a wonderful life with an amazing owner, who understood that Bianca was a shy girl and didn't like a loud house. Sadly Bianca's owner had a major health event and could no longer take care of Bianca, her owner is devastated. Bianca loves chin scratches, she likes to be brushed, she loves to sit next to you and just be in your presence, she is very independent, she would do best in a quiet home, with plenty of hiding spots. Bianca is the sweetest girl, who just needs a little time to acclimate to her new home. My adoption fee is $80: This includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food they are currently *** You don't need an appointment to visit our cats, here is what you need to know: 1. Cats are avaible to visit Thursday-Saturday 10am-3:30pm. 2. Proof of home ownership must be brought with you, i.e a mortgage statement or property tax or home owners insurance 3. If you are a renter, you must have a letter from your landlord stating you can have a cat, pet policy and or pet agreement are not sufficient. 4. Debit/Credit or cash for adoption 5. Cat carrier, we have card board ones for $5 6. You can place a hold on a cat, due to people not returning we will be charging $25 to hold, this will be taken off your adoption fee.

Story
This is Dolly! A super fun-loving, gentle, and goofy cat. She would live wonderfully in a peaceful home with other cats. Older children preferred, since she is too overwhelmed by the rowdiness of younger kiddos. She has never bitten or scratched, and is very curious of strangers. We have taken her to the vet multiple times over the past few months for scans, bloodwork and urinalysis to make sure she's in good health and thankfully she is. Unfortunately, the stress of our toddler has led her to urine marking on our couch. It has gotten to the point where the best thing to do for her is to find a more suitable home.

Story
Missy, born April 2023, was discovered as a small ball of fur with huge eyes in a parking lot. She is very affectionate, very energetic and very, very vocal (if she wants something, you will know!). She is not recommended for homes with children or other pets. She does not bite or claw people, she snuggles and purrs. She does not get carsick or scared in vehicles - as long as her Person is there with her! Myssy is a very timid cat, one that will need lots of love and adjustment time. Silverton Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. We deliver the kitty to your home, so you must live within an hour of Silverton. $125 adoption fee for kitties under one year and $100 for kitties over one year. Please fill out an application, https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at  silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information. We do use the application to match our kitties to the purrfect home. Please be patience when you apply for a kitty; we are all volunteers. All our kitties are altered (spayed/neutered), microchipped, receive age appropriate vaccines, are dewormed, treated for fleas and tested for FIV/FELV.
