Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lindsay found herself unwanted and on death row in a high kill shelter in West Texas.  She loves other dogs.  Cats and young children are unknown. She is good with all people. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Lindsay is a sweet, playful pup ready to find her forever family. She loves to play with toys, chew on bones, be outside, go on walks, but most importantly be with others. She is a social butterfly looking for people or dogs to love on. She has so much love to give!  Lindsay currently lives with 2 other dogs. Lindsay’s foster sister is an elderly dog who doesn’t love to play. Lindsay respects that and greets her kindly before going to play with her foster brother. Her foster brother loves to play and chase (or be chased) around the yard. He lets her climb all over him and shares his toys well (after an initial slow introduction). Lindsay is also a huge snuggle bug. She loves to curl up in a blanket on the couch. She will also curl up in a blanket in her kennel but she may whine about it for a little at first. She sleeps through the night in her kennel and is working on potty training (but keeps her kennel clean). She’s highly motivated to learn and super smart so we think she’ll catch on quickly with anything she learns. She has skills so if you have a 4' fence, you will need to keep a close eye on her or use a long line as a back up as she can easily hop over it.  Currently, Lindsay does not live with any kids but has interacted with kids and does really well. We think she would do well in a house with kids as she is gentle and loves them when she is attending events.  First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 1:32 am

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $300.00 will be applied during the contract process Hi! My name is Dozier and I am from Minnesota. Don't let my silver muzzle fool you! I'm a middle-aged silver fox with lots of pep in my step, a silky smooth coat, and a very distinguished look. With me, you don't have to worry about any of that puppy stuff! I'm fully potty trained, won't eat your shoes, and can be left home alone without being in a crate. I would love a home with a private yard and without shared walls. Noisy neighborhoods make me nervous and I prefer to have "me time" when I'm outside. Seeing dogs or people walking by disrupts my peace and causes me stress. Walks in less busy areas are my favorite; There are so many hidden gems! I grew up with cats and don't feel the need to chase squirrels. I'd rather get my steps in following you around the house in case you need me. I enjoy snuggling with people and can win just about anyone over with my sweet approach and the way I melt in your lap. I have a good relationship with my dog foster brother. Initially, we both liked having our own space as we got to know each other's smell and build trust. Now we can play together or relax together and enjoy each other's company. If we have some shared interests/lifestyles, I'd love to meet you and see if we'd be a good match!

Story
Hi! I'm Arlo. I'm from Kentucky. From his foster: Arlo is sooo sweet. He is very high energy though! I call him the energizer bunny cause he could go all day, every day. He loves all people, but could be a hazard to small children as he doesn't know his own strength. He's great with other dogs, however is a bit unsure of kitties. Not in a mean or aggressive way, just like a "what the heck" kinda way. He is still learning not to pull on walks, I am currently trying to adjust him to a gentle leader to help with that. I think Arlo would be happiest with another dog sibling, as some things can make him nervous when he's in a new place with new people, & he seems to do well following the cues of my resident dog. Not to mention, its always play time for him! He is crate & potty trained, but the crate isn't his favorite space. However, he is still a pup & tends to chew things up when unsupervised, so he begrudgingly accepts his crate when I have to work or am out, as long as he gets a peanut butter filled bone while in there. Although he is always happy & his tail almost never stops wagging, new people & places can make him nervous & he may submissively pee while he is adjusting if he's nervous but that stops once he is more comfortable.

Story
I am looking for my foster or forever home. Please email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you are interested in fostering me or fill out an adoption application if you are interested in making me a permanent part of your family. Hi! I'm Boudreaux, aka Boo! I am from Missouri! From the Foster: Boudreaux is a sweet, happy, and very good boy with tons of love to give. He is still a puppy so has spurts of puppy energy and needs someone willing to continue training him with leash walking, and not to jump up on people or mouth them when he is getting excited. He had lots of fun with a squeaky toy and ran around with it quite a bit. Tennis balls were not a hit, but we heard he also loves to play tug! Our neighbor dog came over barking at Boudreaux, but he seemed unphased and eager to play. When we let them meet (on leash, initially), Boudreaux did perfectly despite a stressed new buddy. The other dog wasn't into it, so it didn't last long, but Boudreaux was great and would do well with a playmate/brother/sister. Despite some reluctance to get in the car, he did absolutely fantastic. He just sat back there, happily. I think he will get more comfortable getting in as he gets used to cars, but he does great once he is in! Boudreaux clearly loves treats, and seems to be food motivated. He was pretty disappointed to find the bowl I brought him only had water! He offers top-notch squirrel patrol and that was the only time Boudreaux barked. He is a strong guy and pulls on the leash, but leash training will help. There was no interest in trying to get over the 6 foot fence. He just enjoyed checking everything out in the yard. Boudreaux is very young and will benefit from training, but this guy will be a great family member!

Story
Star was rescued in Louisiana. A lady that found her called me and said that she could not find a rescue group in Louisiana to take her. She had a gunshot wound through her jaw and ear. She was in pain. She brought her to me in Mississippi, and I got her the medical treatment that she needed. She had jaw surgery, and now her tongue permanently hangs out. We think this makes her uniquely special!! I know that her tongue hanging out may be a deterrent for a permanent home, but Star is such a sweet baby. She cannot help it that somebody shot her. She is a Catahoula hound, and her tail is docked. Star is a very sweet and loves to ride in the car. She loves dogs, and she loves children. She loves to roll over for a belly rub, and she knows the sit command. She is extremely smart. She loves to load up and ride in the car, and I believe that she was somebody’s baby at one time! Also, if you live out of state we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We alternate between the Northeast and the Midwest every other weekend.

Story
Age: 2 yearsWeight: 55 poundsLocation: FosterMeet Domino! She was found stray heavily pregnant and had 9 puppies February 12 in a loving foster home. When not on Mama duty, she enjoys running in the yard, playing fetch, carrying around toys in her mouth and being loved on by her foster family! She is a great family dog. She is 100% potty trained, is gentle and bonds quickly. She likes to stick close to home and enjoys a comfy couch, especially when she gets to snuggle with a family member! She needs work on jumping but is good on a leash or harness. She seems good with other dogs but has only been observed with the resident senior Chi. She has chased cats but is possibly just imitating what the other dog does . Due to her size and energy, she would be best in a home with older children. Domino is around 2 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She looks like a Catahoula Leopard dog, possibly mixed with Great Dane.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.August 19, 2024, 9:27 pm
