Story
We believe Phoebe is 8-9 years old as she has been our family dog for 8 years. As our daughter is expecting our grandbaby in several months, and asked us to move in with her in Glasgow, MT, we have come to the difficult decision that Phoebe needs a new home. Phoebe is loyal, protective and obedient. She follows commands like "sit", "go outside", and "lay down" with ease. During the day, she plays in the yard, and in the evenings she comes inside to relax ad spend time with us before peacefully sleeping in her crate at night. Phoebe loves car rides and walks. The only challenge with Phoebe is that, due to her protective nature, she does not interact well with other animals and she does not do well around young children, so she would thrive best as the only pet in her new home. We have a large crate, two leashes, two collars, potty bags, and Hill's Science Diet dog food. If interested, please call (281) 954 - 1002 and leave a message for Terry.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Aren't I gorgeous? I am not a good match for active small children - they make me nervous.Kane's my name - fun's my game. I am a sweet boy, a bit shy at first. I am cautious meeting new people, but once I warm up, I am your best friend.  I am crate trained, although I have never had to spend more than 4 hours in a crate during the day. I know sit and walk great on a leash. My mom is a super hugger, and I know if I sit when she opens my crate, I get an extra big hug and love from her. I love to cuddle.  I am famous for my attack hug.  Just when you least expect it! I need the companionship of another dog to bring out my best adorable personality. I am very smart and will learn quickly. I thrive on positive reinforcement and affection.  I love to play with my foster siblings. My favorite game is chasing the water hose. I am up to date with vaccinations, neutered and microchipped so you can't loose me. I am a bit timid with strangers and will take a little time to adjust to my new home, but I promise to be the best dog ever once I know I can trust you.    Small children scare me, so I would like to have older, considerate children in the home. I am looking for a forever family. Is that you?     aarfhouston.org/forms  =========================================================  Please contact app@aarfhouston.org for more information about this dog. Please call for specific locations.  Children under 8 years old often are not a good match for our puppies and dogs. In order to protect both, your child and our rescued dogs/puppies from harm, we seldom if ever adopt to families with young children. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet at one of our adoption events. Thank you for considering a rescue! The adoption fee includes vaccinations, Bordetella, de-worming, rabies, spay/neuter and microchip. There is a an additional $12.99 fee for Home Again for a lifetime registration of the microchip. Puppies cannot be adopted outside of the Houston area until they are spay/neutered after they are 4 months old. It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it. NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others. AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation , no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
