Story
Ghost, affectionately known as Ghosty Whosty, has been with us for over a year. Originally from a shelter where his days were numbered, he is just under 2 years old and currently in a foster home in Binghamton, NY. Ghost is your typical German Shepherd and needs a home with breed experience.  A large fenced yard for daily exercise is essential to keep him busy and stimulated. He is house and crate-trained, super smart, and knows his basics (no, sit, stay, off, paw). He is friendly, good with other dogs, kids, and cats. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed, micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, heart-worm tested, and treated if necessary.  Vet references and a home/family visit are required, and an adoption fee applies.  Transport options are available within our area of operation, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England.  Please note we do not adopt animals into Canada.  Visit www.pmarinc.org for more information, and to fill out an application. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. Story
Name: Jessica Day Nickname: Miss DayPreferences: Good with dogs, needs cat test, would do best with patient older kidsReason for being at BCHS: was surrendered with Nick and Schmidt Meet Jessica Day, the human sunflower in dog form! This 7-month-old German Shepherd mix came in with her roommates Nick Miller and Schmidt after their owners could no longer care for them. And just like her *New Girl* namesake, Jess is all heart, a little quirky, and has a bark that’s probably singing its own original theme song. While Nick might be brooding in a corner and Schmidt’s off trying to climb the corporate kibble ladder, Jess is busy spreading joy like confetti. She’s the dog who’d definitely throw a “Pupsgiving” dinner, complete with squeaky toy centerpieces. And if you need someone to dramatically interpret your emotions with an over-the-top head tilt? Jess is your girl. She’s still learning the ropes, but her enthusiasm is unmatched. Whether she’s flouncing on a walk, attempting a playful zoomie, or gazing lovingly into your eyes like you just told her you love brunch, Jess is pure sunshine. She’d thrive in a home with older, dog-savvy kids and possibly even a fellow doggy roommate — though she still needs her *“Ferguson”* moment with a cat test. If your life needs a little more whimsy, a lot more laughter, and a four-legged bestie who believes every day is a reason to celebrate, then Jessica Day is waiting to be your adorkable companion. Adopt Jess and get ready for a lifetime of puppy pep talks, spontaneous dance parties, and endless “Hey, dog! Whatcha doin’?” moments.
