You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! My name is Pecan, and I am a charming Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I weigh in at a petite 13 pounds, and am about 4 years old. I'm a sweet, lovable boy who adores people and attention. While I'm a bit cautious outside, I'm more adventurous when I'm inside and feel safe. I love exploring and "playing" with the "other" dog in the mirror! Some might say I am a bit silly, but it takes a while for that side of me to come out and shine. I'm praise-motivated rather than treat-motivated and not quite sure about my overall interest in toys, but maybe I just haven’t been offered the right ball or squeaker! I’ve been in the car just a bit and I am proud to report I was very well-behaved, sitting quietly in my crate. I’m a pretty chill little guy who would do best in a calm and quiet home, but I can adapt to more commotion if I have a crate to retreat to when needed. I am blossoming! I'm not very familiar with cars and roads, so I need to be in a fenced yard or leashed and supervised outside at all times. I might be a bit of a flight risk until I bond with my new family, but once I do, I suspect I’ll want to stay by your side all the time. I love being around people and could happily lay on your lap or snuggle in bed with you all day if you'd let me. So my activity level is average, but I need to build my bonds and confidence in my surroundings before it all comes out. I’m still learning some of the basics, like signaling when I need to go potty, eat, or drink water, so I need a consistent schedule for some things you want me to really learn and guidance to be successful in a few of the basics----but I will get it all figured out with your help. I need a little patient encouragement to eat my kibble, and I do best when you hand-feed me a couple of pieces to get me started. While I am showing my people that I am getting braver each day, I might need another dog in the home or people who are around often to keep me from getting bored or lonely. Another dog would likely help me get on a routine, learn to trust people and show me the ropes. I am looking for a loving family with patience and who can provide the attention and care I need. I promise to give you all my love in return. If you think we could be a perfect match, I can't wait to meet you and become your forever friend! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello! My name is Caramel and I am a pretty chill dude just waiting for my forever family.   You might be happy you hear that I am already potty trained.  That’s one of the many good things about me! I am pretty laid back and like to have you in sight at all times or I’ll bark to let you know I’m sad about it, so find me. You might call me a Velcro dog – I would prefer you call me cutie – hee hee!  I LOVE being outside in the fenced yard – letting the breeze blow through my fur and hanging out in the sunshine. I do like to chase the critters outside and inside. So no cats allowed in my forever home!  There is a little quirk I need to share. I have a hoarding issue with toys at the moment. I like to corral as many as I can into my kennel. I don’t play with them but they make great décor.  I do well in there, so it should look nice. Don’t you think? I do need another dog and a fenced yard in my forever home. I have no idea what this leash thing is and I freeze while on it, so there won’t be walks with me anytime soon.  But we can learn together.  I’ve already learned “outside” and “go potty!” I am also working on other important dog skills. I am crate trained and doing great with my potty training on a good routine. Yay me! I think we’d have fun together.  If you think so too, head over and fill out that application!  I’m so excited to meet you! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Canines for Clean Water event in Powderhorn Park near the Community Center (3421 S 15th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407-2234) for an Adoption Event - Thursday, Aug. 22nd from 6:30-7:30 pm. Stay for the Movie in the Park at dusk: Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hello there! My name is Dulce de Leche, and I'm a 4-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I weigh about 20 pounds, which means I'm just the right size for cuddling! When it comes to personality, I’m a real sweetheart. I love making new friends and I’m always seeking out attention. Whether it’s at home or away, you’ll often find me leaning against you or sitting in your lap, enjoying some petting and head rubs. I’m a big fan of affection and I’m not shy about letting you know! My favorite activities? Well, I adore getting petted and having my head rubbed. I can be quite the little nap enthusiast too. And sometimes, I like to have a bit of fun by chasing the cat around. It isn’t like I have prey drive, but am very interested, so if there is a cat in my forever home it needs to be dog savvy. As for treats, freeze-dried snacks are my absolute favorite! I'm not really into playing with toys, but that's okay because I have plenty of other ways to entertain myself. I’m still learning about potty training, and we are working on a schedule. A fenced yard would be perfect for me since I’m not very consistent with going potty on a leash just yet. Speaking of leashes, I can walk for about 20-40 feet, but then I might need a bit of coaxing to keep going. I know how to sit on command, and I’ve met one small dog so far and did quite well. I might enjoy having another doggy friend around, but I’m also content being the only dog. When it comes to barking, I’m pretty quiet overall, with only the occasional bark when I’m in my kennel. I’m a very sweet dog, and I’m learning quickly. With a little more time and patience, I know I’ll become fully housebroken and leash trained. If you’re looking for a loving companion who’s eager to please and full of affection, I might just be the perfect match for you! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi I'm Candy!  I'm a sweet girl who is timid, but craves love.  I can usually be found sitting close to my foster mom giving her my sweet smile and the look in my eyes just makes your heart melt and want to hug me close.  I'm enjoying my pets and ear scratches and lean in for more.  When I'm outside with my doggie friends I'm a much more outgoing girl.  My tail wags like crazy and I run with them showing them how happy I am!  I come back inside with them and go back to sitting by my mom for more of those awesome pets if she needs me.  If she doesn't that's ok because I'll follow her around in case she changes her mind.  I haven't figured out toys yet and I don't really care about food.  Love and praise is a much better treat for me!  I'm super chill and so far mom hasn't heard me make a peep.  I'm also kennel trained and keep it tidy.  I haven't met any kids, but I think we'd be fine.  Little loud ones might be overwhelming for me, but older respectful ones that want to gently pet me would likely be just fine since I'm such a gentle girl.  I haven't had much leash training yet.  It's a little scary so I lay down right now.  For this reason I ask for a fence for now so I can do my business.  If you'd like to share your life with me and can be a little patient while I gain some more confidence then I think we'd be perfect together. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello, my name is Ruth and you wouldn’t believe how much I’ve been learning while in my foster home! I discovered the thing I love most is sitting next to my favorite person and will keep a sharp eye them where ever they go. Admittedly, I still get a little nervous and shy when it comes to meeting new people and going out in public but I warm up quickly to anyone who wants to say “hi”! I haven’t quite figured out what the hub-bub about toys is for.  Maybe with time, I’ll get it but for now, I’m ok with the snuggles. I am learning to be more and more brave everyday! I am still a bit skittish when there is lots of commotion, thunderstorms or loud noises. Also, I haven’t perfected my leash skills, so do require a fenced yard in my forever home. My people said that I am working on going potty on a leash and will need to keep practicing leash walking in my forever home. We are also working on potty training, and when kept on a schedule I do ok! All I need now is a forever home with lots of patience, love and a little me-size spot next to you on the couch to snuggle!
