Story
Sully is a 2.4 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. His birthday is Sept 6th. He is smart, energetic, still in his puppy stage of chewing things, super loyal and loving. He thinks he is a lap dog and will legit, sit on your lap. He loves to swim, run and retrieve a ball (he will do this for hours :) He lives with 2 cats and 2 teenage kids and does well with everyone in his home. He is a beautiful boy with endless energy and a silly personality. Sully needs to be introduced to strangers, he is very protective of his family. He needs a home with a huge yard, or an active family, preferably someone who can teach him to hunt and to just be a Chessie.

Story
Jagger is a 7-months, 65 lbs. Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix pup. Jagger’s name was chosen because of his lively and sassy spirit reminiscent of Mick Jagger, the Rolling Stones’ lead singer. Jagger is great with dogs of any size and loves women and children. He can take some time to warm up to men but will soon show his sweet nature as soon as he feels loved.  His foster says that Jagger loves walking near his mom and is very obedient. Her grandchildren aged 4 and 6 hug him and play with him every day. Because he is food-oriented, he learned commands such as sit and “do not jump on people” in Spanish (his foster mom speaks Spanish to him). This big puppy is potty-trained but is still learning to walk on leash. Jagger doesn’t go after cats during his walks, but we don’t know how he will act with indoor cats since there are none in his current home. Just like many other Texas dogs, Jagger was found abandoned in a trailer park in the greater Houston area. A volunteer brought him to safety when some neighbors threatened to shoot him. Despite this traumatic experience, this puppy only has love to give. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ:  •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.  •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.    •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. Sandy Paws Rescue’s MA license number # 0272 ##2264449##
