Story
Hi, I am Noodle. I used to be terrified of all people, but my foster family has been helping me figure out that I don’t have to be so scared. In the last few months, I have gone from hiding and cowering in the bathroom to hanging with my foster pack around the house. My favorite thing to do is go to the dog park when it is not very busy and play chase with the other dogs in my foster family. Zoomies and playing with balls in the back yard are a close second. I’m really good at throwing and pouncing on balls! I also like walks around the neighborhood. My foster parents often argue over who gets to walk me because I’m so good on a leash and don’t pull like their other dogs (unless something scares me). When I’m done with my morning exercise, I pretty much chill all day. I really like snoozing next to my foster mom while she works. Treats rank pretty high on my list of good things as well, although I only recently got brave enough to take them directly from human hands and I’m still a little cautious about doing that. My foster mom is amazed at how far I’ve come, but says I still have some work to do. I still don’t love when people I know approach me and I only approach them when things are very calm and they have treats (I love provolone cheese!). My biggest challenge is that I’m quite fearful of strangers still. I try hard to avoid them. On the plus side though, I’m good at things like getting baths, brushed, nail trims, and pilled. I don’t bark much, am fine being loose in the house when nobody is home and at night, am good with the family cat and I’m also pretty good at going potty outside (I do need to be let out early in the morning or I might have an accident). Noodle is a great dog to have around. He will be such a wonderful companion for an adopter who is willing to take it slow and help him build confidence and learn to trust and enjoy life, and who isn’t too worried about a little nervous drool or sweaty feet. We learn more about Noodle’s likes and dislikes all the time as he comes out of his shell, but as of now, we know he likes dog park trips, walks, provolone cheese and other treats, and all kinds of toys (balls, stuffies, and nylon bones). He loves to chew his toys and is a strong chewer so does best with tough toys. He also likes being part of a pack with fun loving playful canine companions and will probably do best in a family with another dog he can pal around with. However, he doesn’t like aggressive dogs and very excited dogs make him nervous. He also doesn’t like startling noises or activities. Requirements to adopt Noodle: *Secure fenced yard *Calm, nuturing home environment *Dog ownership experience with excellent veterinary reference *Unbridled devotion to making this boy feel safe Noodle is a male Great Pyrenees/Yellow Lab/mix. He was born approximately 11-29-22 and weighs 70 lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease. Adoption fee is $350 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care.
