Meet Pops, a sweet senior chihuahua boy! Pops is approximately 12-14 years old and 8 lbs. He is house broken but could use a bathroom break every few hours. Pops (aka Poppies and Popperonies) loves walking through the neighborhood, cuddling on the couch and in his crate, and eating (he would weigh more than 8 lbs if he had it his way). He gets along very well with other dogs and is learning what it means to share space with a cat. Even though Pops is a senior, he is quite spry. Meet Valerie! Referred to as Cher by her foster mom, she is an adorable tiny 8-9 pound chihuahua mix. This sweet and loving girl was aged as 6-7 by the shelter, but we think she's closer to 4 years old. Valerie was abandoned and rescued on the day she was going to be put down. The shelter said she was snappy. Poor Valerie was just terrified at the scary shelter. Naturally shy, little Valerie will need time to decompress with her new family and will let people pet her after about three or four days. Valerie should be in an adult only house since she is very timid and fearful. Once she feels trust, she will be on your lap constantly. She loves to play with other dogs, is reliably housebroken, and loves going on walks. What's not to love?

Meet Sonny, who looks like a chihuahua on stilts! (Perhaps a chi whippet mix?) Since being euth-listed at an overcrowded shelter, this toy-loving cuddle bug has really come out of his shell. Sonny gets along swimmingly with his foster sister and loves to chase her with a ball. He runs like a little gazelle, enjoys walking on a leash, and is housetrained. (Sonny does tend to pull on the leash and bark when he sees other dogs.) He can't get enough of his squeaky toys and is obsessed with butt rubs. Sonny loves to burrow under covers and sleep between his foster mama’s legs. Cuddle-bug is an understatement! Sonny weighs about 17 pounds, and we believe he's between five and seven years old. He seems to have a bit of hearing loss, according to his foster mom. Because of his energy level and exuberance, we are looking for an adults only home or a home with children aged 12 and over. We believe Sonny would do best in a home with a yard and another doggy buddy.
