My name is Molly! I am 1 of 14 pups that were recently dumped on a rural dirt road with temperatures in the twenties. We were so scared, but thankfully all safely recovered after a week of rescue efforts! Given my recent and traumatic history, I am very very shy and timid at first. I need a little bit of time to warm up, realize you are good people and feel safe. Once I do though, I am a lap baby. You will have a friend for life if you can look past the initial fear and give me a chance to trust. – 2 year old – 9 pounds – Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped -- Did well with kids met aged 7+ - Major lap baby – **Not** compatible with large dogs – Cat compatibility unknown – Dumped with a dozen other small sized dogs whom I am friends with, but I have not met any other small dogs that I don't already know. Slow and proper intros would be needed to integrate into a new small dog pack. Meet Mitzi! She is a fun, loving 5 to 6-year-old Chihuahua mix. She is full-grown and weighs a rather hefty 20 pounds. She will need a family who can continue working on her weight loss. She loves comfy beds and soft toys and food and treats and more treats and butt scratches. And more treats…. Seriously though she really shouldn’t have more treats. One of her favorite things to do is to “kill” her soft toys by throwing them in the air chasing after them and shaking them. Long stuffing less toys work great for her! Mitzi is house trained and crate trained. She prefers to be with her people and prefers to sleep in the bed. If she can see you or knows where you are and can’t reach you she will whine, but she does fine when needing to be left alone during the day. She is happy to be your little shadow! Mitzi gets along with other dogs, but as a mature adult girl, she often avoids rambunctious puppies, and the evenings she prefers the other dogs to leave her alone when she’s curled up in bed. She is happy to enjoy the action from wherever she’s curled up. She is good with older kids, but is not a fan of small kids/toddlers. She has never been around cats to our knowledge. Mitzi recently had a teeth cleaning and bloodwork done with us and is ready to find her forever home.
