Poor little dog was lost for some time. He was reported as a stray hiding in a corner of someone's yard. They were kind enough to take him in and post him as needing help with a rescue or Humane Society. After 5 days in their care I showed up to inquire about him. They let me meet him and I got him to respond to me. They liked that and let me bring him into rescue. He went straight to one of my vets and we checked for a micro chip and purchased some flea meds for him. They were so kind they donated the funds to get him flea meds. He's in res use and I'm working getting him used to me and the other dogs here. He would be most comfortable as being the only dog. He's very scared right now but is slowly coming around. Needs someone very caring and careful with very small dogs. He is a typical Chihuahua after all!

Meet Axel! Gets along with dogs. He lived with a Doberman, two cats, and a chicken (all indoor pets). Axel is fully vetted, including being neutered. Axel has been left alone. His mom is hospitalized and when she gets out, she won’t be able to care for him. He suffered a spinal injury (spine was bruised) when a big dog accidently stepped on him. He has healed now but he has a little limp. He is on a joint supplement daily. His spine is still healing and we expect the limp to heal. He is living in a foster home now but he is searching for his forever home. Axel’s adopter will have to be willing to keep him on his joint supplement. A couple of his favorite things are cuddle time with his foster family and sunning in the backyard. SKIPPY currently lives in a foster home with many dogs. He is never pushy and has zero desire to be the boss. SKIPPY’s kind, unobtrusive nature will make it easy for him to get along with all resident animals in his forever home. However, SKIPPY would also be perfectly fine as the only pup in the house, so he’s an easy addition to the family. Leia is a sweet female chihuahua who was found hunkered down by someone's house. We thought she was separated from some pups but vet exam showed that it was most likely a false pregnancy. She has since been spayed and fully vetted. Leia is the nicest little dog. She is about one year old and weighed 7.6 lbs when spayed. Very timid at first but once she warms up to you she is so affectionate. Leia did not seem terribly used to other dogs but she is doing ok in a foster with fewer dogs. She is heartworm negative. She has had the proheart shot.
