Story
Meet Skipper! ❤️ 🐾 Skipper is (estimated at 9 years young) an auburn chipper male. Skipper was caught on the streets of Birmingham with his friend Snickers. So, we honestly think they came from the same home. Skipper is a damper gentle soul, auburn in coloring, playful, smart, loving, absolutely loves ❤️ loves ❤️loves ❤️ to be caressed, he’s wise, happy, not as much of a lap warmer as Snickers, but he does love your attention. He has long graceful legs and is a whoot. 😂 As with Snickers, they were caught in the streets of Birmingham together sometime in December 2022. Both are both house trained with regular trips outside. A fenced backyard would be great and preferred! Since they are believed to have lived outside on their own for a time, being on the leash is a learning experience. When they are together, if they see other fur babies they get really excited and like to bark. Which is probably, how they survived on their own for so long as a way to protect themselves being so small and older. Even though Skipper eventually warms up to new dogs, it takes a while, and he would probably be happiness as an only dog in his next home. Skipper is very much loved in his foster home. Thus, only the most perfect of home him will he grace. 🥰 If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN PENNSYLVANIA AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama, Pennsylvania and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

CHICO IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED!   Chico is easily the sweetest fun-loving dog ever. He is happy-go-lucky, he is extremely smart and is eager to please his human. He is about 8-10 years old and 13lbs. Chico loves to cuddle with his person. He knows sit, come, back, find “whatever you ask him”. Chico is house trained and crate trained. He recently had a dental. Chico is a good eater. He is polite and loves meeting new people. Chico was an only dog in his original setting, walked into his multi dog foster home and immediately became the cruise director. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes. His favorite foster sibling are the pretty larger females! Chico is crate trained and house trained. He sleeps with his foster mom or in his open crate – his choice. Chico loves lap time. The best home for Chico will have a secure fence. Kids over 10 and with excellent doggy manners would be okay. Another well temperamented dog would be fabulous. An excellent history of vet care for current or previous pets is required. Previous specific breed experience will be given preference. He is fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to PA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Chico up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Chico here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 1:30 pm

Story
Age: 9 years Size: 8 lbs Estimated breed: Chihuahua/Pug mix   Wilbur was confiscated from a home with over 40 chihuahuas living in terrible conditions. Rescuers found dogs living under the home, feces completely covering the floor, and newborn and nursing babies living in couch cushions and under furniture. Several dogs had began leaving the house out of an open window in search of help. Help came just in time, and all 40 surviving dogs were taken to the shelter and checked out by a vet. Along with several other rescues, we agreed to get the whole group out of the shelter and into rescues and foster care!    Wilbur is the oldest dog of the bunch, but don't let his age fool you - he's still got plenty of pep in his step! He is a sweet little old man with a sweet and gentle demeanor. Wilbur does well with all dogs and people, and we assume he'd do okay with cats too. Due to his age, we recommend he to go a home with older kids or no kids. He has some eye issues and will need daily eye drops to manage dry eye, but does still have some vision and gets around just fine. Wilbur is looking for a comfy retirement home to be spoiled for the rest of his days!   To adopt Wilbur, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.   PA Kennel License #18366January 13, 2025, 5:52 pm

Story
Surrendered by my former home and only having lived with one person without much socialization, I find myself unsure of people, yet longing to be loved.  I’m Snoopy, a 2 yr old Long Haired Chihuahua mix Boy, weighing about 15 #, who is uncertain of the outside world. Having lived most of my first year with one person, I’m shy, timid, reserved and skittish to people and situations. ( NOT Aggressive ). On the “FLIP SIDE” I LOVE other dogs, am gentle, good natured and playful! My fear CAN BE CORRECTED with your love, understanding and time. I’m very intelligent and sometimes to smart for my own good.  My caregivers tell me that I think I’m a big dog in a little dogs body.  I say I’m large and in charge.  I still have things to learn about being a dog and living in a home, but with your help, I’m sure this won’t take long. Just having consistent care givers I’m already learning to give and take love here. Being VERY DOG FRIENDLY, another dog would be best in my new home, but not required. Sorry, no kids due to my skittishness, for my safety. NO issues with aggression, just safety.  I do require a 4 ft fenced yard due to my fear, shyness and just for my safety as well. So, what ya think? Do you want to take a “GAMBLE”, “Roll the Dice”, and “HIT the JACKPOT”!  To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
DOB 9-28-2024 Estrella is a tiny beautiful little Chi, playful and social, she loves toys and other tiny dogs. She is up to date on all medical for her age. Her adoption fee is 850.00 and her transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they leave every other week. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 STILL AVAILABLE 10/21 Luna Moonpie Looking for a local (Arkansas or nearby) adopter! Luna is a tiny chihuahua/pug mix who has had a bit of a traumatic few months. She came into rescue a few months ago when her owner had to go to assisted living. Luna had lived in an apartment with her mom most of her life, rarely seeing other people. She has been in a foster home, where she loves the woman but only tolerates the man and the other dogs. She was adopted briefly by the perfect adopter- an older lady who lived alone with no other pets- but had to be returned after she tried to bite a delivery driver. Luna has the typical Chihuahua personality. She is nervous and will bite out of fear. Imagine how scary this world would be if you were only 8 lbs? She is a one person kind of dog, and she will defend and protect that person at all cost! She doesn't care for other dogs, but may be able to coexist with another dog who won't try to force interactions with her. She really just wants a lap to sit in and a human to cuddle. She loves sleeping in bed with her person. She is not super vocal so apartment life would be fine for her. She is not fully house trained but will use potty pads most of the time. Because of the high likelihood of failed adoption, and the stress of transport, we feel strongly that Luna needs a local home, in case she needs to come back into rescue, we can be her safety net. She would be the perfect companion for a single retired person. Please share Luna's post. It is so hard to find a home for a dog like this. But she didn't ask to lose her mama, she didn't ask to be undersocialized, and she didn't ask for chihuahua genes. It's just who she is, and she still deserves a good home and to be loved. Luna is 4 years old.For questions or more info, email apps.aasr@gmail.com. To apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 To see more of our available dogs, Www.adoptastrayrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Do you love blanket forts? What about cuddles and snuggles and kisses, too? If all of this sounds good, and you are seeking a loyal and playful companion, check out sweet and petite, Teeter! Teeter is a 6 month young spayed female Chihuahua Mix weighing about 6.5 lbs. She absolutely loves kids, plays with multiple dog friends in her foster home and also resides with cats. She understands when a cat doesn't want to play, and she responds well to verbal correction when she sometimes feels the urge to run when they run thinking it's playtime. Teeter is potty-pad trained and doing really well with going outside on a regular schedule! Teeter isn't crated in her current foster environment. Her preference is to be wherever you are, on your lap, tucked into your neck, or napping under the desk while her hooman works from home. Teeter is all around fun, loving, and playful. If she sounds like your girl, apply today at  www.pack9rescue.org/applications . New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 &#226&#128&#139 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. We love Opal but our living situation has changed and my long work hours are not fair to her. She is blind in one eye and has a numbed leg from before we got her. It has not affected her mobility. She’s a seeet girl. Would be best with older kids that understand how small she is.
