Story
Meet Toby! Hi all, I’m Toby! Foster mom says I’m a “cute little squeak.” I’m not sure what she means, since I hardly make a peep except when I’m being a guard dog (like us little chihuahuas have to be). I'm a senior guy, weighing just 8 pounds, but I could stand to lose one pound to be a healthy weight I was surrendered to a shelter when my owner could no longer keep me and boy was it scary! It's hard to be a little guy in a big world sometimes. But Albert’s took me in, and I’m getting comfy in my foster home day by day. I love getting pets. I was surrendered with my sister Molly, and we’ve always lived together, but we aren’t bonded. In my foster home, I live with lots of other dogs, and I get along with them, but sometimes I have to tell them who is boss (me, obviously). I also get along with respectful kiddos, but I won't seek their attention. I just kind of like hanging out. I love lounging in a soft dog bed or even in my crate (it's my quiet place). I don’t mind being crated at all, in fact, but I’m house trained and don’t destroy anything, so I don’t need to be crated. I do well on a leash and really enjoy going for walks, but my stride is much shorter than yours! I recently had a dental cleaning, and I had a lot of my teeth removed (I guess that is what you get when you don’t brush!). Foster mom says it’ll give me “fresh breath.” I’m also being treated for anaplasma and lymes disease (both caused by tick bites). I don’t have any symptoms, and I probably never will, but Albert’s just wants to make sure I get extra good care. I'm hoping that will be with you! *Toby is being fostered in Madison, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Learn more about Albert's Dog Lounge, our mission, and adoption policies by visiting Albertsdoglounge.org. Begin your application process by copying this link into your web browser: https://www.albertsdoglounge.org/apply WI Dept. Of Agriculture License Number: 474085-DS NOTE ABOUT AGING A DOG: Aging a dog, based on looking at them, is unreliable and usually inaccurate. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality and their needs. Story
About Me: Name: Domino Breed (or best guess): Chihuahua mix Approximate Age: 8 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 12 lb Adoption Fee: Reduced Fee $300 Requirements: Patient Adopter Why In Rescue: Owner passed away Profile: Domino has been with Bichon and Little Buddies for over 2 years as we have worked with him to have him become comfortable with humans other than his owner.  When he was surrendered, we were told he is paranoid - and that does fit him.  He gets worried when he has a tag on his collar or when he is wearing a sweater.  He has stranger danger, so isn't going to want to be in a household where people are coming and going a lot or where he is expected to go visiting.  While he has some issues, he is a funny and loving guy to the people he has bonded with.  He will sit excitedly, waiting for one of his chosen ones to kneel down and open his kennel door so he can leap out and give a hug.  It is now time for him to venture out and find a family of his own.  While he lived with other dogs in his previous home, at the shelter there are a number of dogs he doesn't get along with - primarily males, so he may do best as an only dog or a female dog with a slow introduction.  Domino went for a short home visit with a volunteer to see how he would be in a home.  He had issues with other dogs in the house when the foster mom had food.  We are hoping for an only dog home for him to lessen the chance for issues if he decided to try to guard his person or his food.  He did warm up to visitors with some time, but will likely always need a slow introduction.   If you are looking to adopt a dog that really needs you, Domino may be that guy.  He is an athletic little guy who will climb up to the top of his kennel so he can look out and see what is going on.  If you can offer Domino a patient and loving home, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can discuss more things about him. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS August 18, 2024, 2:40 pm

* Attention, attention! * 📣 Calling all humans! One puppy looking for human people …Correction: One ADORABLE puppy looking for a LOVING family (humans preferred)!Hello there! My name is Winston. I am searching high and low, near and far (ok, somewhere in or near Wisconsin) for my forever family …maybe you can help?!As you can probably tell from my pictures, I’m just a small pup - around 6-7 pounds, about 10 weeks old and I look like an Aussie/Chihuahua mix. Since I’m pretty young, I am still getting the hang of some things like going potty outside, learning commands, walking on a leash and redirecting my puppy nibbles. I am doing good for just being a puppy though! My foster family calls me a little firecracker! One minute I’m calm and cuddly, the next I’m ready to play - complete with zoomies, puppy playfulness and clumsiness! That tires me out, and I’m ready for rest and cuddles again - being a puppy is hard work! What kind of humans do you have at your house? I get along with adults and kids! I really like to be near my family and I am extra cuddly when I’m sleepy. Do you know any humans that have dogs already? Maybe a dog who needs a friend? You might be wondering if I get along with other dogs …well, I have good news for you! I just love my dog friends! If I see another dog, I will say hi and greet them with kisses! ❤ ❤ ❤ Especially my brother …and I also like to sleep on the dog bed with him in our playpen. (I haven’t really slept in a crate, but I do okay in one during car rides). What’s that? Cats? I am not sure about them quite yet …my foster family doesn’t have any, but I can update you if I meet one! My foster family thinks I would probably get along well with cats too though since I am such a friendly pup. 😊 Well, I told you a lot about me! Now, I’d love to hear more about you. 😊 Are you a loving family looking for an adorable dog to join your family? Do you need a cute, little, firecracker in your life? If you think we’d get along, apply for consideration to adopt me using the link below!I will be microchipped before adoption and also up to date on all my age-appropriate shots. My adoption fee is $500 plus a $150 deposit toward my neuter. The $150 deposit may be refunded once proof of my timely neuter is given to Biggie Paws.www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
Hello Biggie Paws friends. Today we’d like to take a few minutes to tell you about a special little guy named MAX. Max is a 3 ½ month old who weighs in at only about 6 lbs. He resembles a Chihuahua mix. He’s currently staying with his foster family in Ingleside, IL. He’s been really busy in his foster home, MAXimizing his time working on his potty training – he’s starting to get good at giving indicators that he has to go potty. If needed he is good about going on a potty pad. He is excited to become a pro and adjust to your schedule and potty-training preferences. He’s also been hard at work on his leash and crate training and is doing fantastic on both of those. ❤️Max is kid 👲👧 friendly and is also good with other dogs and cats. 🐩🐕🐈 In foster he’s had time to play with young children, as well as a 2 yr old dog, a 13 yr old dog and a 10 yr old cat. He’s fine with the cat’s decision to coexist and not play with him 24 hours a day. 😹 Max is not a picky guy. He’s up to play or love on pretty much anyone and everyone. 😍Max is super adaptable with where he sleeps. 😍 He’ll curl up in his crate with a warm blanket, in bed or on a puppy pad. Just give him some chew toys to occupy him and he’s good to go. He’s working on listening for his name and coming in after running around outside in the yard. Max is a lover. 💕 He does everything to the MAX - plays hard, eats well, and loves to cuddle up on your lap after a MAXimal play session. He’s up to date on all of his age appropriate shots 💉and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 plus a $150 deposit toward his neuter. The $150 deposit may be refunded once proof of his timely neuter is given to Biggie Paws. www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
Hi there Biggie Paws Family! We are so pleased to introduce you to this precious pup, Philip!Philip looks like an Aussie/Chihuahua mix, is around 10 weeks old and is just a little peanut! To give you an idea of how small he is right now, his foster family weighed him using a food scale! He weighed a grand total of …> Insert drum roll here < 🥁About 6-7 pounds!! Even though he is small in size, Philip has such a BIG heart! He loves to snuggle and be near his humans! Philip is staying in Kenosha, WI with his brother and is enjoying getting to know his foster family. They’ve noticed that he doesn’t like loud noises or really fast movements and he’s a little shy at first - we can’t blame him, that’s a lot for a little guy! Once he warms up to you though, you'll have a friend (and maybe a puppy shadow) for life! Phillip won't turn down cuddles, a chance to be held, or share some puppy kisses. He'll even fall asleep in your arms like a human baby! 👶As you can tell, Phillip is a loving and affectionate dog! 🥰 He is still a puppy though and is working on the typical puppy things like going to the bathroom outside, walking on a leash and redirecting those puppy nibbles! His foster family says that he is doing great so far and is such a smartie! Philip is friendly with other dogs, but same as with humans …he takes a little time to warm up to them. We’re not sure if he’s friendly with cats, 🐱but since he’s such a friendly guy, we think he would get along well with them too! After a busy day of being a puppy, Philip loves to cuddle up with his brother on their dog bed and sleep in their playpen together. He has been fine in a crate for car rides, but he hasn’t really slept in one. Philip is up-to-date on all his age-appropriate shots and will be microchipped before adoption. His adoption fee is $500 with a $150 deposit for his neuter (he is too young for the surgery at this time, so the $150 will be refunded when proof of a timely neuter is given to Biggie Paws). If you think you and Philip would be a good fit and are interested in being considered to adopt him, please fill out the application below! www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550
