Story
I received Océano who I call pups, when he was roughly 6m, he is 2 now. At the time, I was unaware of allergies to long hair dogs. And unaware my daughter is allergic to all dogs. She suffers from many health conditions and while trying my best to keep them separated so he does not need to rehome, my best efforts have not been successful and she continues to be affected. I also work a lot and do not have time to give him the attention he is needing and my daughter can’t play with him. Oceano is an anxious, high energy dog with a big personality and a big attention seeker. He also does not like fast movements around him and will bark. He needs to go to a family that has the time, patience, and energy for him or a family with other small/medium dogs for him to play with. He loves to play catch and tug a war and will bring toys to you when he wants to play. And he loves to be close and cuddly. He is microchipped, and there is no fee for adopting, we just want him to go to a good home.

Story
Roo is a male chiweenie. He is 11 years old, categorized as a senior dog but he can run, jump, and play like a young pup. He was given to me from a friend in Laytonville, California at 10 weeks old. Roo loves to cuddle, explore his surroundings, and snuggle up under any blanket he can find. His favorite place to sit or sleep is in a person's lap. He can sit, spin, and wait for a treat. However, Roo was not properly socialized as a pup, so he is aggressive towards dogs, cats, kids, and adults. He has an extensive history of biting. He has bit 1 child, 2 dogs, and 3 adults. He has attempted to bite my kid once. We attempted to rehome him with family but he ended up tearing through carpets more than once. So we have him back home. We are hoping someone with lots of patience & understanding can teach this old dog new tricks and have the skills to support his behaviors. He really is sweet with people he cares about & I hope he finds someone to give him the guidance he deserves! Thanks!

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereThis Dog is Available By Appointment Only Sabina is a hidden gem. She's very sweet, loyal, cuddly, on the quiet side, walks great on leash, and is potty trained. She doesn't mind other dogs but prefers to keep to herself and is more of an introvert than a social butterfly. Given her mellow attitude, she may not mind cats, but she has not been exposed to them. She gets nervous in new environments and spooked by loud and unexpected noises, so a home with older children would be best to ensure she's her best self. She's very mellow and spends most of her day relaxing in her bed or cuddling with you on the couch. She's also an excellent overnight guest; she sleeps through the night and rarely moves from her spot. She's not a huge barker; we've only seen her bark when my resident chihuahua starts it, and she joins in. She's great for someone looking for a smaller dog without the giant attitude. We have not been crate-training her, given that she is not destructive when we are gone, although she is used to being in her playpen and can be left in there overnight or while you're out. She prefers to be next to you rather than tucked away. We are working on separation anxiety and possessiveness; she growls when we are petting or cuddling with her, and other dogs get close. She also cries when no humans are in the room, but this has been happening less and less as she gets used to us. We are working on these with her, and she seems to respond well to consistent training, treats, pets, and verbal rewards. Sabina is a flight risk and will run off if she is spooked, so whoever adopts her should do on-leash walks only with her for as long as needed as she gets used to her new environment. Sabina has bloomed so much in her time with us; she went from terrified and distant to sweet and cuddly. She is a prime example of what a little love and a feeling of safety can do. She would be ideal in a home that wants a close companion and can give her a consistent routine in a calm environment. We hope that she goes to someone who is patient and willing to earn her trust. Ideally, someone whose love language is cuddles and affection. Sabina will be sure to return that love a hundredfold. Follow her foster adventures @adopt_sabina on Instagram!
