Story
Willie, a 2-year-old Chiweenie weighing 23 lbs, who is the perfect blend of sweet and laid-back. Willie enjoys lounging in his favorite chair, but his playful side comes out when he's wrestling and chasing Dolly, the younger resident dog. Initially shy, Willie has grown comfortable in his environment and loves being close to his people. He has a hearty appetite, gobbling up his food quickly, and has learned to sit for treats. Willie is smart and now fetches the ball with enthusiasm. He has adapted well to the household routine, experiencing only a few accidents and escape attempts early on. He loves sunbathing but prefers to be outside only if someone is nearby. Willie shows concern during thunderstorms, which might explain his past attempts to run. At night, Willie usually sleeps with his humans but sometimes retreats to his favorite chair. If you stir in the morning, he'll jump on the bed to gently nudge you. Willie is a wonderful companion who enjoys both playtime and relaxation, making him a perfect addition to any loving home. *Willie is Heartworm positive and is being treated currently. Story
Nina and her sister Pinta were rescued from the dog pound. We believe these adorable girls are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails coming from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur. Nina has a bit of blue in one eye so there is something else in the mix. They are young, probably between one and two years of age. At 19 pounds, Nina is the larger of the two girls. Nina is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is a little shy but warms up quickly. She is a lapdog who loves pets and cuddles. She likes treats and will toss them around and play with them before she eats them. And we just found out that she loves snow! Nina would probably do best in a home with another small, playful dog to wrestle and play chase with. Nina is crate-trained but needs some more work with house and obedience training. Her new family should give her plenty of attention and playtime, take her on walks, and give her a lot of cuddles and affection. Nina must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Nina is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. She is heartworm-negative and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Nina is available for adoption to approved in-state and out-of-state applicants. Her in-state adoption fee is $250, and her out-of-state adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to the Northeast and Pacific Northwest. Story
Pinta and her sister Nina were rescued from the dog pound. We believe they are chihuahua/dachshund/pug mixes (the curly tails come from the pug). Both girls have very soft fur and are young, probably between one and two years old. Pinta is smaller, weighing 16 pounds. The sisters occasionally get into squabbles, so we think it would be best if they went to separate homes. Pinta is very affectionate, sweet, and playful. She is more outgoing and active. Pinta is a definite lap dog and will nap on your lap or shoulder whenever you watch TV. She is very playful and loves her toys. We also just discovered she loves snow. Pinta is crate-trained but needs more work with house and obedience training. She is smart and is learning quickly. Pinta loves her people and can be an escape artist. She will not stay in her outdoor kennel because she wants to be in the house with you. She also cannot be left in the backyard when you leave because she will try to escape to follow you. Pinta must be an inside dog and a loved member of the family. Pinta's new family should give her plenty of love, attention, and playtime. She must be walked on a leash and needs a secure, fenced yard to run and play. Pinta is spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Pinta is positive with a low load of heartworms (we are happy to explain). She now receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. We are using the slow-kill treatment and she should test negative in 6 to 12 months. Pinta needs no special care for her heartworm treatment so she can be adopted to an approved applicant now. Pinta cannot travel on a transport to another state until she is heartworm-negative. Please email 2manydogstx@gmail.com if you would like to adopt this adorable little girl. Story
Name: PepeBreed: Chi mixApproximate age: 6-10 years old (?)Approximate size: 10 lbsGood with dogs? Yes. He doesn`t really feel the need to interact with any of the other dogs in the house.Cats? No cats to test at our house, but would imagine he`d be fine if they left him alone. Kids? No kids at the house, but don`t see an issue. How are they doing with potty training? He`s a good boy and will go to the backdoor to be let out. We have potty pads in the bathroom in case he needs to go during the night and he`s good at using them. How are they doing in their crate? He doesn`t ever go in a crate, but would imagine he`d be okay. Energy level? LowAny issues with guarding? He will bark at the other dogs when he gets up in his place next to us on the couch, but doesn`t actually do anything to them.Leash reactivity? He`s not been on a leash with us since he has wounds healing. We just pick him up when we take him to car/vet.Fearful? He doesn`t seem to be scared of anything that we`ve noticed. Aggression? He`s not super friendly when you try to put clothes on him ?? He seems cold without something on, but becomes an angry lil guy when you go to put a sweater on him so we`ve had to find something that is easy to get on him so it can be fast.Separation anxiety? Not that we`ve noticed. He does want to be with you when you`re home. Anything else you’d like to add? Pepe is an easy lil guy. He loves to eat and cuddle. He knows to go outside to do his business (and is quite talented with his pee pee handstands). Pepe lets you know when he`s done his business and is ready to go back inside too (no desire to hang out there once his business is done). He loves to cuddle next to you in soft beds/blankets and pretty sure he believes our bed is now his bed. He is a very independent guy and gets up on the couch/bed on his own as well as going up and down our stairs. Pepe loves to be where you are and will follow you around the house while you`re doing chores. He will be a great addition for anyone looking to add a lil sidekick to the family.
