Story
This sweet soul is Marigold. At 4 years old and approximately 30 lbs she longs for a home to plant roots in.
Marigold had a rought start to her short life. She was used for breeding and kept in terrible conditions. Although her first chapter was rocky she is ready to for an upward arch in the rest of her story.
She has a quiet disposition, hesitant but curious. Her foster home contains 4 other dogs; older, younger, larger and smaller. With other dogs is when she displays more confidence and curiosity.
Marigold has made great strides in her foster home already pottying in a designated spot and building confidence to explore outside of her crate. Home life and trusting humans is brand new to Marigold. Her ideal family is one who can give her space to acclimate and let her move at her own pace. She would thrive with a confident dog sibling to show her the way.
What happened in the past does not define you. It forges a new path that will take you to a different version of yourself. Could you be the humans who will walk with Marigold on her new path?
Marigold is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $600.
Marigold is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
