Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Jackson, a loving, healthy, 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel. He was surrendered to a NC Shelter with the owners saying he snapped at their kids when they wouldn't share their food with him. The shelter was overcrowded so he came to rescue. This very handsome, friendly boy is just a BIG boned Cocker Spaniel. He is heartworm negative, neutered, micro-chipped and he had a dental. Due to a somewhat unknown past, absolutely no kids in his new home. He is a happy affectionate guy most of the time, but he does have some issues from being flown to NC as a pup. His lack of social skills is workable if you teach him. He does have anxiety issues when groomed so a patient groomer who will work with him is best. Also, riding in a vehicle is difficult for him when he hears loud noises. He is not a playful dog, but he would enjoy quality time with you and a companion to hang out with. A calm, stable home with a caring owner who will spend quality time working with him is best. An adult home with no children, some house training and a fenced yard is best for him. He is a good boy and will become a loving companion once he gets to know you. No apartments. Adoption fee $400

Adult home, no children or grandkids. Meet Buddy, a 1 year and 9-month-old neutered Cocker Spaniel boy. He was turned into a NC shelter with the owners saying he had started nibbling at their feet, and they didn't want their grandchildren to get hurt. They had him in their home for two months after getting him from someone else. This sweet boy comes from an unknown, unstable past. He needs an adult only home with an owner 55 and under, no senior owners. Absolutely no toys, no children or grandkids due to bite issues which his foster rescue mom will discuss if you are approved to adopt him. He has been in 4 different homes before rescue. He came here with bilateral cherry eyes, HW & fecal status negative. Surgery repair for his cherry eyes was done with a good recovery. When he came to us, he was very sad, dirty with mats and needed to be cleaned up. After being groomed he came back withdrawn and even more sad possibly from too much noise and too many dogs. He will need a patient groomer and few distractions. A new owner must listen to what we suggest and have a fenced yard. He didn't know kindness, love, attention or how to handle noises. We have worked with him, and he has made progress. He can be in a home with one other Cocker Spaniel who is easy going and would love a pal. He will thrive in a home with stability, kindness and love. Someone who will work with him and not give up on him. His issues will be discussed if approved to meet him. We feel he deserves a 2nd chance. Adoption Fee is $500.

Adoption Pending - No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out paperwork back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Hank. He is a 2-year-old reddish buff Cocker Spaniel boy. He was bought from a breeder as a youngster, lost his home and his second family had to give him up because their children were allergic to him. A nice Good Samaritan lady found out about him, agreed to save him by taking him in and said she would ask for rescue help to get him a good home where he will be happy. He is a handsome boy and scheduled to have a dental done. He will be available for adoption in 3 weeks. At his initial vet visit we learned he came to us with an ear infection and some skin issues that are being treated. He will need a patient owner who can work with him. He gets frightened easily and will run and hide. His lack of social skills when he gets scared makes him uncomfortable and he might snap at you until he feels confident that you won't hurt him. Absolutely No kids under 10 years old and he will need help with house training. He should be okay if you have a Cocker Spaniel who is dog social and would love a pal, but he isn't comfortable with big dogs, they tend to scare him. He will be a great companion once you gain his trust, and he gets used to your routine. He is a nice dog who just needs a loving owner who will care about him. Patience and quality time with you is a huge plus to help this boy blossom and thrive. A securely fenced yard is a must. Adoption fee: $500
