Story
Howie the hugger. Yep that is what we call this beautiful purebred golden colored Cocker Spaniel. This boy is a sweet spirit inside and out. This 2-year-old boy weighs only 22 lbs. and came from a very sad environment where he was filthy and matted and emotionally abused. He is not damaged except for the fact that you can't raise your hand over his head without him cowering a little bit. This boy has the greatest love for people and he brings a smile to the heart of his foster mom. He will make a remarkable family pet because he only wants to be loved and to love you back equally. Howie gets along great with other dogs and even likes the resident cat in his foster home. Due to the emotional neglect that he has suffered from, he needs some specially focused attention and love. We know there are Cocker Spaniel fans out there who will recognize what a beautiful treasure this boy will be to adopt. Somewhat shy at first, he will melt your heart in 60 seconds. Howie weighs 22 pounds and needs to gain some weight, but overall he's very healthy. He likes car rides, walks and always wants to please. He has been neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, prevention and microchipped. If you are interested please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  he is ready to pack his bags and travel on the van northward to a new and loving home PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 13, 2024, 1:29 pm

Story
My name is Malloy and I am a 2 year old pure bred Cocker Spaniel that came from a very bad and desperate home environment that was not clean and it showed in the condition of my matted fur and dirty body.  I have been shaved down with a summer cut and I feel so much better. Everyone comments on how handsome I am and I kind of puff up with a newly found sense of confidence.  Right now I weigh about 25 pounds and I am told over and over that I am a really sweet and friendly boy.  Considering my former life of isolation and very dirty living conditions, and being passed around to a few homes, they say it is a miracle that I am so emotionally happy and even keeled. I am ready to breath a breath of fresh air and start over in a whole new home with good people to love me.  I am very nice to all my foster siblings at the foster house I am in now.  I have not met the cats, but my foster mom says she knows I would be respectful and gentle.  I have no aggression whatsoever in my personality and no mean bones anywhere.  I just want and need love.  I am getting the hang of the bathroom break schedule and I am fully neutered now with all my shots done and I am cleared of worms and even a negative heartworm test.  I just want a great new life to get started very soon.  Are you looking for a wonderful Cocker Spaniel to love you?  Well I am raising my paw to volunteer for a lifetime.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 8, 2024, 9:53 pm

Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Mandy PupDate into Rescue: 05/02/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Mowgli was born into rescue Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Mowgli is up to date on vaccines for his age. Mowgli's mom Mandy is a beautiful red cocker spaniel. While dad is a man of mystery, it's clear the cocker spaniel genes are strong in Mandy's puppies! Weight: 5 lbs and growing - we expect he will be between 25-30 lbs when full grown Height: 4 in and growing - we expect he will be between 14-16 in when full grown  Spayed/Neutered: No. Mowgli is too young to be neutered. He will be adopted on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him within 9 months at your cost and provide evidence of neuter.  Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, though he would love one What kind of home would be best for me? Mowgli is a very young dog looking for an experienced owner with the time required to properly raise and socialize a puppy. Mowgli is small. He requires a home that can offer him consistency and routine, and where someone is home more than they are away. Our ideal puppy owners have someone in the home that is home during the day (work from home, stay at home parent, active retiree). While our preference is always for puppies to have a canine companion in the home, we will consider an only dog home for Mowgli if you have a good plan for socialization with other dog. This plan includes play dates at least 3-4 times per week for up to an hour with another dog. Mowgli is too young for dog parks so this will be private play dates. Due to his size, Mowgli will not be placed in a home with children under 8. Puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Puppies are generally very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can!  What is my personality like? Mowgli is a young, happy puppy. He was born into rescue and has been raised in a loving foster home with plenty of other puppy playmates. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc) How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Mowgli's birthday is 05/02/2024 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. July 12, 2024, 6:34 pm

Story
Say hello to Coop! This sweet approximately 3-4 year old dog came to us from a shelter where he was found as a stray. Coop did not like the shelter life and they reached out to us to see if we could rescue him. Coop was someone's dog before because he came to us already neutered and potty trained. He is very loving, and while he can be slow to warm up to new people right away, once he knows you are a friend he will sit by you for love and pets and attention. Coop gets along with dogs both big and small. But he also would be a great only dog. We think he is part spaniel. Please apply for this sweet man at apply.neshamarescue.org
