Story
At 13 years old, Buddy is a charming 55-pound Coonhound with a heart as big as his bark. He and his sister, Daisy, are looking for a soft landing after losing their loving parents - their dad passed away, and their mom was no longer able to care for them.  Buddy is house-trained and prefers the comforts of a cozy couch or dog bed over a crate. He enjoys spending time in the yard but equally loves a good walk to stretch his legs. This sweet senior knows “sit” and “shake” and is eager to show off his tricks for a tasty treat. His endearing personality and loyal nature make him the perfect companion for someone who appreciates the charm of an old soul. Buddy’s foster parents describe him as affectionate and focused (with a touch of stubborn hound spirit). He’s a total foodie who delights in catching treats midair and savoring every bite as he works on gaining a few extra pounds. While he gets along well with medium-to-large female dogs, Buddy wasn’t a fan of the small male dog he met. He hasn’t been exposed to cats or kids, but he’d likely do well with children aged 10+ who respect his gentle nature. Buddy’s booming hound voice means he’s best suited for a house rather than an apartment or condo. He doesn’t bark excessively, but he will make his feelings known—especially if he’s apart from his people. He thrives in a calm home where his humans are around often and can give him the love and attention he craves. Buddy is ready to spend his golden years with a family who will cherish his affectionate and loyal nature. Could you be the one to give this sweet senior his happily ever after? His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
