At 13 years young, Buddy is a 60-pound Coonhound with a heart as big as his bark. Since settling into his foster home, he’s blossomed into a calmer, more confident pup who just wants to love and be loved in return. His loyalty knows no bounds—his foster family calls it the “Buddy lean,” when he melts into your side, resting his head in the crook of your arm.
Buddy is housetrained and prefers the comforts of a cozy couch or dog bed over a crate. He enjoys lounging, but don’t let his age fool you—he’s still got plenty of pep in his step! He gets excited when the leashes come out and happily trots across the yard. He’s even started getting the zoomies! His food-loving nature remains strong, and he’ll eagerly show off his “shake” for a tasty treat.
He thrives in a calm, quiet home with people around often. Buddy does well with kids, though his size and enthusiasm mean he’s best suited for older children who won’t be easily knocked over. He’s also recently discovered the joy of toys, adding a playful side to his already charming personality.
While he’s not the biggest fan of car rides, Buddy is always up for a good walk and adores having his velvety ears rubbed. His hound stubbornness has softened, replaced by an even greater desire to please. He’s an old soul with a whole lot of love to give—could you be the one to give him the happily ever after he deserves?
Buddy’s minimum adoption fee is $100 plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
