You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Chloe is an angel in a furry, four-legged body. Her foster is very impressed with her and says; 'She is sooooo sweet! Only had 2 accidents in the house and nothing in the crate. She is like a magnet. Likes to be right by your side and is learning to play with toys. Honey would love another dog in the home to play with.  She represents all that is wonderful about beagles. Because she is a hound, we will require a physical fence for her to keep her and her nose from following any irrestible scents and to keep her safe. She is interested in everything and is going to make your walks more fun than you can imagine, as she points out all the great stuff along the way that you have been missing without her. A lovely temperament and a desire to keep herself clean are such good qualities. Bringing Honey into your life is a good choice if you like smiling, kisses, and a best friend who wants to be with you. She promises to listen to everything you say and not tell another soul! Honey is also great with cats.  If you are interested in Honey, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 14, 2024, 2:58 pm

Say hello to Lester! Lester came to us as a stray, and now he is ready to find a family! Loving Lester enjoys being with people. He loves getting pets! Lester loves toys, almost as much as he loves finding new scents! This big boy's favorite toys are stuffies! He could lounge around all day with a good stuffy to play with! Lester is a big sweetheart and loves to meet new people. Making new friends is what Lester does best! We have not seen Lester around other dogs, but we believe he would do best with a calm-tempered dog. Lester would do best in a home without cats. If this happy hound is the one for you, please fill out an application for him today! Lester is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Frank is 4.5yo, weighs 92lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  "Frank is the most incredible dog I could have ever asked for, when it is just him and I.  He is fun, goofy, loving, and playful.  But, he is very weary of strangers.  He warms up to people, through proper introduction, but he does have behavioral issues.  I am currently working with a trainer to help Frank as much as possible with a transition to a new home.  Frank knows basic obedience, such as 'sit', 'stay', 'paw', 'come', and 'place'. Frank's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "My girlfriend and her 11yo daughter are moving in.  Frank has done extensive training, but we do not fully trust him around such a high energy child.  Frank does really well outside of my home, but has gotten protective since only living with me the past 2 years." BITE INCIDENT:  On 20 October 2022, Frank bit his guardian's girlfriend's hand; the bite broke the skin, animal control was not involved, and only home first aid was administered, as it was not a major injury.  Frank's guardian explains:    "Typically when anyone comes to my house, I have Frank in the back yard or on command, like "place", away from the door.  This day, my girlfriend walked into the house unexpected and I was on the phone in the other room.  Frank greeted her at the door and let her give him affection.  She was petting him when I came into the room.  Frank looked at me, then looked at her, and then bit her hand.  It did puncture the skin, but he let go immediately.  He went to cower in the corner because he knew he had done something wrong." Frank's guardian offers a brief medical history: "Frank is on medications.  Apoquel for his allergies, and Prozac and Trazodone for his anxiety." Frank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Frank hasn't lived with children, but his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Frank has had limited experience with children outside of the home.  He has barked in the past, but he has also let them give him scratches."   Frank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Frank hasn't lived with dogs, but his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "Frank is leash reactive when he sees another dog.  However, he seems to do fine with them outside of the house, so long as the other dog does not get aggressive." Frank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Frank hasn't lived with or otherwise been around cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Frank's guardian describes him as: Very active Couch potato Quiet Playful Shy Affectionate Fearful Always at your side Indoor dog Outdoor dog Nervous Separation anxiety Frank's guardian describes his ideal future home: "The ideal home for Frank would have alot of property or a big fenced yard where he could play and chase squirrels.  He would be able to just be a dog, have fun, and go on lots of walks.  Sadly, I do not know if he would do well around children or pets, but I have seen him do well outside of my home.  I just want Frank to have a loving home, wherever that may be.  He can be alot of work at times, because of his past, but he has been my best friend and it has been so worth it.  This has been the toughest thing I have ever had to go through.  I just want him to be safe and happy." Rehoming Fee:   None Location:  Towson, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. If you are interested in ADOPTING me, please CLICK HERE:  ADOPT ME 2. When your application is received, a Placement Manager will do a basic screening. Applications will be forwarded to the owner for further screening and continuation in the adoption process.  3. Please give us 48-72 hours for a Placement Manager to respond after you submit your application. If it has been longer than that, please email:  rescuewellrehome@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE: We provide ALL of the information we have on this pet, here on this page, in its entirety from the pet's owner. Story
If you are looking for a playmate for your dog, Opal is your gal! Opal is a 6-month-old Hound/Terrier mix who tips the scales at 45 pounds. Opal is an energetic gal who gives 110% to everything - she plays hard, naps hard, and gives her whole heart to her people. Opal LOVES to romp with her canine foster siblings and would make a fabulous playmate for a resident dog. Opal also does well with dog-savvy cats. She is one lucky pup, as her foster mom is also a dog trainer, so she has been eagerly working on perfecting her basic commands and more. She is treat-motivated, which makes for fairly easy training. Opal's ideal family will be active and should have another playful dog for her to romp with. She is both house and crate-trained and eager to find a family to love! She is spayed, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. This dog's adoption fee is $450. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/colt/ Hi everyone my name is Colt. My name would have you thinking of a young energetic horse, romping and running in a field. While I am not that old and do love long walks and an occasional dash around the yard, I am just as content relaxing and taking naps. While I am kind hearted and happy with the people I know, I am weary of strangers and new situations. Basically, even though I am a big boy, new things scare me. Because of this, I would do best in a quiet home with no children and a very experienced owner. If you are willing to take the time to get to know me and help me with my insecurities, please fill out an application and one of my favorite volunteers will contact you to discuss further before you come out to meet me. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
