Story
He's such a silly dog, and he has a distinctive bark.  LOVES WATER!  This guy is very smart, super loving, and full of puppy energy.  He plays extremely well with my other dogs and is respectful of my cat.  He does NOT like the crate, but he loves the bed.  He's a super snuggler in bed.  He has really long legs and really long ears, and is just super cute.  He loves water, as you can see in the below video.  He will make someone an absolute best friend.  He will bond with you very tightly and look forward to all of your outings in nature together.  Just a super wonderful puppy that will make someone's home that much better!! Are you ready to meet me? Visit https://www.wtarescue.com/adoption-process-2 to request a meet and greet and to learn more about the adoption process! Mandatory in-person transfer date: August 23rd at the Petsmart in Tysons Corner between 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. All adopters must attend in order to finalize the adoption. ##1975561##

Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.

Story
Name: “Hugo” Breed: Hound-lab Mix S: Male Birthday: 2018 Updated Vaccinations: JUL 23’—good thru 26’ Mr. Hugo is a well trained and charismatic dog. His temperament is friendly-extroverted and emotional. He has never met a stranger and makes people know that he has love to give—and they need to get with the program. He was utilized as a therapy puppy / mascot in the US military. His emotional intelligence is off the charts, he can see when someone is upset and will personally cuddle until he’s removed their troubles. Hugo enjoys cuddles, sunbathing, playing catch, and affection. I recommend him for a family that wants a playmate for the kids (while watching out for them) and would appreciate a dog that has energy, but has left the puppy-phase. With Hugo you know you’re getting a well-disciplined companion for the entire family.

Story
If you are looking for a playmate for your dog, Opal is your gal! Opal is a 6-month-old Hound/Terrier mix who tips the scales at 45 pounds. Opal is an energetic gal who gives 110% to everything - she plays hard, naps hard, and gives her whole heart to her people. Opal LOVES to romp with her canine foster siblings and would make a fabulous playmate for a resident dog. Opal also does well with dog-savvy cats. She is one lucky pup, as her foster mom is also a dog trainer, so she has been eagerly working on perfecting her basic commands and more. She is treat-motivated, which makes for fairly easy training. Opal's ideal family will be active and should have another playful dog for her to romp with. She is both house and crate-trained and eager to find a family to love! She is spayed, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives. This dog's adoption fee is $450. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training - no exceptions! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives and will need to be spayed/neutered at the age of 6 months. Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16 weeks old. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/colt/ Hi everyone my name is Colt. My name would have you thinking of a young energetic horse, romping and running in a field. While I am not that old and do love long walks and an occasional dash around the yard, I am just as content relaxing and taking naps. While I am kind hearted and happy with the people I know, I am weary of strangers and new situations. Basically, even though I am a big boy, new things scare me. Because of this, I would do best in a quiet home with no children and a very experienced owner. If you are willing to take the time to get to know me and help me with my insecurities, please fill out an application and one of my favorite volunteers will contact you to discuss further before you come out to meet me. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/
