Story
If you are looking for a snuggly best friend, here he is. Louie is extremely affectionate and wants to be in your lap. He has been our family's sidekick for two years; he is great with our kids and our cat. Pretty good with other dogs, but he has met a few he didn't like. He loves to go on runs/walks, play fetch, and earn treats. He is very food motivated and highly trainable; he passed obedience 1 with flying colors. Recently, we learned that Louie has some anxiety. We have been working with our vet and a dog trainer to help address his anxiety around new people. He gets a little nervous and unpredictable around kids who are not ours, which is the main reason we are rehoming him. We have two kids and lots of playdates. Ideally, I think a single person or couple who want to put in some behavior training would be the best people for Louie. We could pass along all the dog training documents we have. We love this dog. He is SO sweet, but we know that our home isn't the best for him.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  DOB: 11/11/2017 Requires another dog in home: Yes, large dog preferred Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 51.4 lbs Food Fed: Solid Gold Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a fenced yard Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi I'm Sandra Dee.  I came here from a shelter in Arkansas with my puppies.  We were named after the movie Grease and who doesn't love that movie am I right?  Like Sandy I'm a very sweet girl.  I'm a little shy with people, but I'll tell you a secret.  Food is the way to my heart.  I take treats very gently and while I'm munching on them you can scratch my ears and pet me.  I enjoy chewing on bones and I'm crate trained.  I'd love a home with another dog in it to help me continue to learn to be the bestest dog ever.  I get along with other big dogs just fine and usually ignore smaller ones.  I want to play with my big dog friends, but I'm awkward about it.  You see I'm vocal because I get so excited and that seems to confuse them.  I try being submissive and licking them and they still look at me like I'm a silly girl.  I hope you're doggie won't mind.  I walk pretty well on leash, but would do best if it wasn't in a really busy area.  A fenced yard would be great so I can play, hang out in the sun and learn about love.  I'm kennel trained and potty training is going great. What do you think?  Do we go together?   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello my name is Blue. I am a 55lb male American Coonhound coming from NC. I found my human while hiking on the Appalachian trail. I was tired, really hungry and scared. Luckily I came across some cool hikers and find myself in MN in good health and a home with a lot of love. Getting used to being an inside dog and going potty outside, it is going a lot better as long as I can get outside consistently. Being a tracking dog I like to walk/run so a fenced yard and a family who can walk me consistently is really important. Otherwise I will need to be on a leash to go potty in the rain, heat, snow and cold and who wants to do that. My social skills are pretty good, I have been around other dogs and am learning to play but not sure about cats. I can be skittish when first meeting you and have met a kid one time and was fine. My bark sounds like a seal barking but I don’t use it much, I’m kind of a quiet dog. I go for long walks everyday and that helps my energy level. I’m pretty good on walks and respond to verbal cues and leash correction most of the time. I like to follow you everywhere sometimes and others I relax. I am always interested in what your eating. I do make mistakes and am stubborn at times but if you are patient and understanding with me I respond and will learn. What Blue needs is a loving home where he can be an energetic family dog that has the time and love to invest in him. He has many years a head of him to be a great addition to his forever home.  Blue is a really good boy-click here to see him at the dog park! Blue is from A local owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Click here to watch a video of Blue.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 10:58 pm

This handsome hunk gets along well with other dogs. Is kennel trained and house trained and already spayed so no worries about unexpected family members or puppy support payments! He lives for adventures. Need help with some yard work - especially with picking up sticks after a storm? Decker has you covered! Who needs neighborhood watch or an alarm system when you have a Decker to keep watch for you! Unlike a teenager who will eat you out of house and home Decker does fine with just two bowls of kibble a day, and a steady supply of milk bones and sticks. He also provides you with cheap entertainment by chasing lights on the wall or his tail! Pests - he will take care of them as well! He maintains his lean physique by running in the yard regularly and playing with his canine foster brothers. He is also very proud of his shiny coat and sparkling teeth!
