Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: Unknown Good With Kids: Yes Kennel Trained: Yes Age: Approx. 6 months DOB: 1/15/24 Neutered: Yes Decker is ready for adoption! After spending the last several months with his foster family recovering from an old break in one of his back legs, he is healed and ready for his forever family and we are so excited for him! Decker is a 6-month-old, gorgeous tri-color Coonhound, possibly mixed with Swiss Mountain Dog. He is active, playful, loveable, silly, and full of character. A typical day for Decker is spent rotating from one couch to another lounging, exploring the yard to find sticks to chew on, chilling in his kennel, chomping on and destroying stuffies (squeakers must go!), stalking rabbits from the sunroom couch and advising everyone of their presence, annoying his three dog siblings, and inserting himself unexpectedly and repeatedly into his foster parents’ team meeting calls. As typical for his breed, Decker has lots of energy and stamina, loves to explore, find, and share things with you, or leave them for you to find. He is exuberant about everything and has the typical Coonhound bay and bark. Decker would be a wonderful fit for a family with a fenced in yard, who like to spend lots of time outdoors, and do not mind sharing the couch with a dog who tends to sprawl and snore whilst napping. Decker at 6 months is 40 pounds, has a short coat, and fully grown will be a tall boy and likely 60 plus pounds. Coonhounds require lots of exercise and activities to keep their minds engaged, and our scent driven, which is why a fenced in yard would be best for Decker. Decker is kennel and house trained, has learned to use a doggie door, and he is ready to find his perfect forever family! Don’t let this handsome guy pass you by - you’ll regret it! To meet and fall in love with Decker, apply for him at emotionalrescuedogs.org ##2106406##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Abby was originally surrendered to us on 11/27/2023 after her owner passed away unexpectedly. She is a redtick coonhound who is now around 7 years old. She's a large and happy lady who loves people and has lived her life as a house dog. She has also had some basic training and knows some commands. She has been fully vetted and her fee is $150. Abby is a larger dog and is pretty strong. She can be playful, likes a good walk, but is also content to chill out on the couch. She enjoys going for car rides. As a hound, she can be kind of vocal, but doesn't overuse her singing voice. Abby has had exposure to other animals and people of all ages. However at this stage in her life she's looking for a somewhat quiet and calm home without a lot of foot traffic. She would prefer an adult only home but kids over 10 should be fine. She really just needs a couple of special people, or even just one person, to make her feel at home. Hounds are really awesome dogs and make great companions. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 14, 2024, 12:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nala is a 4 year old hound mix who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Evidently the neighbors had a problem with her "hound music" and complained. It was a heartbreaking scenario for both Nala and her owners as she was very loved. We don't mind any hound sound - it's music to our ears! She is spayed, microchipped and her fee is $150. Nala is a very loving and gentle girl. She is pretty strong, too. She can pretty shy with new people at first and tends to bond very closely with her people. She's looking for a quiet and calm home without a lot of in and out foot traffic. An adult only home would be great. Yes, she is a hound so a bit of noise might come with the territory. She will require consistent exercise to drain her energy a bit. She could do well with another well mannered male dog. Cats? Most likely a no. Hounds generally make good companions. They are awesome! She would love a fenced yard! Not a dog for apartment living. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  DOB: 11/11/2017 Requires another dog in home: Yes, large dog preferred Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Unknown Weight: 51.4 lbs Food Fed: Solid Gold Requires a fenced yard:  Yes, needs a fenced yard Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area. Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi I'm Sandra Dee.  I came here from a shelter in Arkansas with my puppies.  We were named after the movie Grease and who doesn't love that movie am I right?  Like Sandy I'm a very sweet girl.  I'm a little shy with people, but I'll tell you a secret.  Food is the way to my heart.  I take treats very gently and while I'm munching on them you can scratch my ears and pet me.  I enjoy chewing on bones and I'm crate trained.  I'd love a home with another dog in it to help me continue to learn to be the bestest dog ever.  I get along with other big dogs just fine and usually ignore smaller ones.  I want to play with my big dog friends, but I'm awkward about it.  You see I'm vocal because I get so excited and that seems to confuse them.  I try being submissive and licking them and they still look at me like I'm a silly girl.  I hope you're doggie won't mind.  I walk pretty well on leash, but would do best if it wasn't in a really busy area.  A fenced yard would be great so I can play, hang out in the sun and learn about love.  I'm kennel trained and potty training is going great. What do you think?  Do we go together?   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
