Story
Wilson is calm and relaxed in his kennel, but he was a little unsure when he first entered the playgroup. He wasn't too fond of the male dog in the session and seemed a bit hesitant to interact with the other dogs. We're confident that with the right match, he'll feel more comfortable, so we plan to try him again with a more confident, easygoing female. With time and patience, we believe Wilson will open up and enjoy his playtime more.Although he is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment. If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Wilson 256840".He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Story
This is one gorgeous, statuesque goofball of a hound dog! Let me introduce you to Bennie. In Bennie's former life he lived outdoors; since then he has beautifully transitioned into his foster home. He's all about enjoying the beds and the couches and giving/receiving loves. But. Bennie is about 85% potty trained. He's a fast learner and there just may be a little stubbornness mixed in as well.Handsome boy gets along with people and other dogs and has a laid back, patient temperament . He weighs about 70lbs., and is around four years old- the perfect age for blue tick coonhounds...their adolescence's last for several years. And, then a switch goes off and they turn into couch potatoes. Very tired couch potatoes! Bennie is up is up for all sorts of things including any and all cuddling, napping on the deck, playing tennis, going to the dog park and taking long walks in pretty places Best of all, Bennie will tell you every day and every way how much he loves you and how thankful he is that you saved him Primary Color: Red Roan Weight: 71.5 Age: 4yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
I am the goodest boy. I love all people. I love other dogs and cats. I walk good on a leash but I am pretty strong. I’m a hound dog with my nose to the ground but not a hunter. My last people didn’t care about me. They made me hungry all the time and they let me get heartworms. My rescue people love me. They have my heartworms treated and my belly is never empty. I don’t have to be outside in the heat, rain and cold. My angels were sent for me. They tell me my Furever Angel will come along shortly. Until then I’m living the bestest life.
