Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi there! I'm Cheryl, a four-year-old female Corgi weighing 25 pounds. I'm a very sweet and calm dog who just loves to be pet and spend time with my family. Whether at home or away, I remain gentle and serene, making me a great companion. Some of my favorite activities include going on walks and being outside. I'm doing great with leash training and like to go on daily walks. But, I’m not the biggest fan of going potty on a leash so do need a fenced yard. I am good with my potty training on a routine. I’m still figuring out toys and treats, but I’m excited to discover what I like! One thing you’ll love about me is that I rarely bark, so I’m always a calm presence around the house. I'm incredibly respectful and get along well with everyone, including cats. I'm a sweet and loving dog who just wants to be close to my family and enjoy some pets. If you're looking for a gentle, well-mannered companion, I might be the perfect fit for your home! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule.     Age: About 7.5-8 years old Weight: 21 pounds Dog friendly: YES, REQUIRED IN HER HOME Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes, but prefers a quite home Potty trained: Yes, on a schedule  Crate trained: Yes   Oh boy just look at this pretty girl!! Little Miss Joni is ready to shower you in love and affection with her corgi big smile in tow. She's a very happy, wiggly, and smart little girl whose life wasn't always sunshine and rainbows.  She was rescued from a breeder who kept her in an outside pen and sadly when she was young her signature corgi ears were burned by the heat lamp. They are all healed now and Joni doesn't give two cares about it and hopes you can see past it as well!   &#226&#128&#139Joni is very well mannered, affectionate, gentle and sweet. She's happiest lounging quietly in the house but has just the right amount of energy to keep up on long walks, camping and hiking.  She's excelled and basic obedience and knows how to sit, down, stay, come, walk nicely on leash and has an excellent recall.   Joni great with other dogs, cats and livestock. She actually will require another dog in her home and prefers her dog sibling to have a relaxed energy (no young, high energy or pushy dogs for her life  partner). She is good with all people but really doesn't love a lot of fast moving action so young kids are not her jam. She'd thrive in a quite home with another dog friend or two and people who love her.   Joni does have some anxiety that is mostly triggered by thunderstorms but also fireworks, power tools and loud children. She will pace and pant and sometimes have potty accidents when she's scared.  She loves her safe spot (kennel) during these scary times.  This pretty girl can’t wait to meet you and love you endlessly    Adoption Fee: $495  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? Story
Sparkles is a short little gal. Wiggly little behind. Maybe only a foot and half or so tall, around 25-30 lbs. We believe she is a Heeler\Corgi mix. She is new to our shelter and we will continue to learn more about her, but so far she appears to be quiet, so happy to be with a person, calm in the cat building and a tad worried overall. She is camera shy, but plenty friendly and comfortable with us volunteers. She is estimated to be between 1-2 years old.____Please Note: We ask that an application be filled out before coming to the shelter. If pre approved, a meeting with the animal will be set up. To fill out an application, go to http://watonwan.weebly.com/adoption-application.html, All animals are current on vaccinations, sterilized and given flea/tick preventative. Cash or check only. For more information, our website is www.watonwan.weebly.com or call the shelter at 507-942-7387. For more information on cats, please email: petcompany@hotmail.com. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello there! My name is Crumpet, and I'm a six-year-old female Corgi weighing 24 pounds. I'm an absolute joy to have around! I'm sweet, curious, and playful. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was quite timid and shy, but very observant and smart. Within just a few days, I started to show my true personality, gaining confidence and trust in my new surroundings. While I'm still nervous about certain things like fast movements, loud noises, and being grabbed at, I'm getting better every day. I've learned the household routine very well and have gotten potty training down quite nicely. I go into my crate to eat, sleep, and nap throughout the day while my foster mom works. I'm fairly quiet, though I have let out some playful barks when excited or when I need to go outside in the morning. Being a Corgi, I might get more vocal as I become more comfortable. I love to approach my humans in the backyard and give them a gentle boop on the ankle to let them know I'm there. I’ve shown some interest in toys but not much. I do well in the car, during grooming, and I'm easy to give medicine to—just hide a pill in some Greek yogurt, and I’m good to go. While I don’t pay much attention to the four resident dogs here, I have played with my foster sibling Corgi a couple of times. So many cute Corgi hops! I do need a fenced yard because I'm not leash trained yet and can be fearful of new things. I tend to freeze when on a leash and will need more practice as my confidence grows. I don't necessarily need another dog in the house as long as my humans are home most of the time. My tongue sticks out, we call it a "perma-blep" (Google "blep" to see how adorable it is!). I’m very loving and sweet and would thrive in a calm, quiet forever home that can offer me unconditional love and patience. If you’re looking for a loving companion with a bit of a quirky charm, I’m the perfect match for you!
