Meet Merlin! This funny quirky 2 year old mix was surrendered when his owner was relocating. He had not been to a vet (ever?!), was covered in some kind of weird healing scabs that his owners said was a reaction to some new shampoo?, and was a bit thin but his skin has healed up nicely and he’s put on weight. He gets nervous at first and picks and chooses his friends, but warms up fast and dances around for attention. He is obsessed with squeaky toys, walks nicely on a leash, and is fine with other dogs and could live with or without them in a home. He was said to be a Maltese mix? Though he looks more like an eskie/pom mix or oversized longhair chihuahua. Merlin is 13lbs (probably should be about 15), has been vetted, neutered, updated on shots, and is ready for a home. This is the face of a senior who doesn’t understand why he’s homeless 😞 Meet Jorge. His owner was frantically driving around with him looking for a shelter to take him immediately, refusing to bring him back home because he snapped at them that morning trying to put his harness on when he wanted to be left alone. His owners had been having some changes in their living situation and health issues and it was just too much to continue to care for him. We were expecting the worst of him but he’s actually more of a sad scared boy than feisty and evil, and he tried really hard to show that he wasn’t comfortable being cornered and really didn’t like that harness. He’s been fine with other dogs and cooperative with us, picks up a routine quickly and likes having access to a fenced yard better than having to be walked. But he’s a pretty easy guy overall for the right home and doesn’t want to make waves and he’s been used to living with other dogs in the past. He’s about 12 years old, a chunky 20lbs and looks like a giant chihuahua, or a corgi on stilts, or a toy shepherd/husky mix 🤷‍♀️, neutered, updated on shots and in pretty good shape for his age overall. How can you turn your back on a phone call from someone who says their friend had seven puppies born to their Corgi and she is moving in 2 days and will not take the puppies with her. Her solution was the threat to dump them in the woods and leave them or to destroy them in some hideous way. When you receive a call like that you can't turn your back because people mean it unfortunately. Desperation is a very ugly thing and people are doing some very ugly things to the animals. If you can help Foster summer or one of these seven puppies that we have snatched from her after living in that small pin their entire 12 weeks of life, please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com or text at 615 661 5333. We need Fosters for them right now. They are seven and eight pounds each and there are two girls and five boys. We are in need of fosters by the end of the week, Thursday if possible August 8th. We have a short-term person holding them but it is only short-term. Thank you for considering helping. We have had them to the vet and they are relatively happy and healthy and we are seeking Foster homes now as well as forever homes. Monty is a full fledged Corgi mix Cutie Pie Puppy! A boy that will make your life so much happier when you see his little face and wiggly body greet you ever day. This boy is 13 weeks old and was born to a pure bred Corgi momma. He was raised in an outside kennel and pen with his siblings and the lady was moving and threatened to leave this litter in the woods where no one would even see them. We could not stand still for that. He is the best little boy that will not be even 25 pounds when fully grown. He is happy and bouncy and ready to make your life a delight. Meet William... Nothing is better than a Corgi.... William and some siblings were surrendered to the rescue once they were not sold in a pet store. Sales has been very slow with most pet stores and the pups that don't sell usually head back to their orginial mill. We were able to grab a bunch of these pups before heading back. We are so thankful to get them. Not sure what would have happened if returned to the mill. William is a 12 week old male Corgi.. His parents were around 25 pounds so we estimate his full growth weight to be around the same, possibly 20 - 25 pounds. William is very fun, playful and confident. William has 1 bright blue eye and 1 floppy ear. We are hoping it eventually goes up, but you never know. He is so adorable....He is having a blast in foster with the kids and other pups. Corgis are full shedding pups and are working dogs. This breed does require a good amount of exerise. He is using a wee wee pad and the outdoors for potty training.
