Meet Cowboy, a young dog with a heart as vast as the prairie. This sweet soul exudes gentleness, making him the perfect companion for quiet evenings at home. He's an independent spirit, smart enough to understand your needs and respect your space. Despite his shy nature, he's also playful, ensuring there's never a dull moment with him around. Cowboy is house and crate trained, showcasing his intelligence and adaptability. He's friendly with adults, older kids, and other dogs, making him a great addition to any household. His demeanor is a testament to his good nature, and he's just waiting to share his love with a forever family. He is a smart boy and basic group training classes is recommended to help him learn commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you! Adopt Cowboy and experience the joy of unconditional love and loyalty that only a pet like him can provide. Cowboy’s story: He was part of a loving pack of five dogs owned by a woman who faced an unexpected crisis: homelessness. She had found a new place to stay but was only allowed to bring one dog, so she chose to live in her car, prioritizing her furry companions over her own comfort. Despite her efforts to find new homes for her beloved dogs, her attempts to re-home them had been unsuccessful. As harsh winter temperatures set in, with nights plunging into the 20s and wind chills dipping into the low teens, one of our southern rescue partner’s compassionate volunteers stepped in to assess the dogs for potential intake. A heartfelt post on social media prompted a response from a local family willing to adopt one of the dogs. The dogs are now in loving foster homes and doing great! Story
Hi everyone my name is Jasper and I am about to turn 9 years old and I am a Corgi and pug mix boy that is 24 lbs and my 91 yr old Dad just went into assisted living.   His family is not able to take me and let me live out the rest of my life with them so they have asked Critter Cavalry Rescue to find a foster for me. I'm lucky because lots of people ask them every hour of the day to get a new place for their dog. I'm a good boy but I really don't want to live with another dog. You can see from my pictures I'm quite playful and I have a great smile. I am housebroken and I really don't need a crate because I'm a good boy when loose in the house and I'm minding my P's and Q's when you're gone. I've got lots of great healthy years ahead of me. I'm looking for someone special to spend them with. I need someone that loves a good strong playful medium sized dog that does everything right in life. Because my original Dad never took me out with other dogs much, I am mostly defensive when I am confronted with other dogs on a walk.  They scare me honestly.   I just need to be in a home with no other dog so I can feel safe and secure.  Hard to teach an older dog like me new tricks. But I know someone will just want only ME to be their one and only, so I'm looking for happy people because I'm happy boy. I've got a great outgoing personality and I can help you make more friends if you just take me for walks and let me work my cuteness factor and charm.  I'm neutered, I'm totally vetted and healthy and I'm microchipped. I'm also very ready to spend the holidays with you as my new best friends and forever family . Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com If you would like to know more about me and apply to adopt. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 7, 2025, 1:25 pm
