Story
Hey everyone! I'm Rex The Wonderdog, and I'm here to show you how amazing life can be when you're full of love, joy, and a bit of extra determination! Sure, my back legs don’t work, but that doesn’t slow me down one bit! I’ve got my trusty wheelchair for when I’m outside, and I scoot around like a pro indoors, especially on smooth surfaces. I am looking for a forever home where I can be the center of attention and the only fur kid.  - Cuddles: I'm the definition of a cuddlebug. I love snuggling up in blankets with my humans.  - Outdoor Fun: I love being outside, enjoying the fresh air and playing with my toys. - Treats: Turkey slices are my absolute favorite! - Attention: I love being close to my family, giving smiles and light kisses when you pet me. - Potty: Don’t worry! I can poop and pee on my own… no expression needed. I do wear a bellyband 24/7 because sometimes I can’t move fast enough to get outside. - Indoor Fun: I get around best on smooth surfaces, so if your home has those, it’s a big plus for me! If you’re looking for a loving, cheerful companion who will bring endless smiles to your life, I’m your guy. Let’s make beautiful memories together!Click here to watch a video of Rex. Story
Hey there, I’m Snuffy! I may be a big boy, but don’t let my size fool you—I’m just a gentle giant with a lot of love to give! I’m neutered, up-to-date on my shots, microchipped, and mostly housebroken. I get along great with other small dogs, but big dogs? Not so much. I’m also terrified of thunder, so a little extra comfort during storms would be nice. I’m down to 25 pounds, but I still need to lose a couple more. Don’t worry, though—I’ve got plenty of energy for an older dog, and I’m getting faster every day! I love hunting for squirrels and lizards, so a fenced yard would be a dream come true for me. But no cats, please. I’m good with older children. I don’t need to be in your lap all the time, but I do like knowing where you are. I’m generally happy, and I really enjoy treats. I’m a sweet, sweet senior, and I’m hoping to find a forever home where I can be loved and cared for. Do you have room in your heart and home for me? I promise I’ll make it worth your while! Story
Yara, (more white) age 5, and Zuri, (more brown) age 3, are bonded double piebald miniature smooth dachshunds. Tiny girls, Yara weighs about 9 pounds and Zuri weighs about 13 pounds. Yara is completely blind and Zuri has limited vision in one eye and no vision in the other eye. Their vision loss is due to double dapple or double piebald gene. Yara and Zuri are very loving sweethearts who are looking for a home together. The fact that they have vision impairment doesn’t slow them down or diminish their love of life in their foster home in Texas! They are very bonded and always want to be together. They love to play together and will happily spend the entire day together. Yara and Zuri are so bonded that their foster mom in Texas says it is like having just one dog as wherever one goes, the other is right there as well. The two of them do all things together, including eating out of the same bowl! This sweet and loving pair like nothing more than cuddling up with their person. They have not been tested with children and due to their lack of vision we would not recommend them for a home with children under the age of 13 years. They have not been cat tested but do get along with other dogs however due to their lack of vision and small stature we constant supervision would be a must. Yara and Zuri are house trained and crate trained. They love their crate and sleep together in it at night. Yara and Zuri will need time and patience in their new home to become accustomed to where their potty area will be and how to get there. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important, but for these vision impaired sweeties patience and love will be doubly important. Yara and Zuri are not leash trained and quite fearful on the leash. They require a yard with a very secure fence and no pool access (again due to their vision loss ). Their safety must be always a consideration If you are ready to meet the loves of your life please apply to adopt these two little cuddle bugs today. They would love to snuggly up beside you on the couch as soon as possible !

Story
Rosie is a beautiful 7 year old dilute red girl who weighs 16 pounds. Rosie is a fun loving spunky girl looking for love ! Rosie loves to play! She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home in Alabama . She will get down on her front paws to encourage her pup pals to play with her. She loves to play with soft toys and loves to chew on dog appropriate chew bones. Rosie would love a home where she can sleep in a big bed with her forever family. Rosie is working on her leash training. She is still in the process of learning leash manners . Rosie is a good girl when receiving a bath. Rosie should be monitored closely if she is in a fenced area as she will dig. Rosie loves nothing more than being outside hunting for chipmunks or laying in the sun. A big backyard would make her so happy . Rosie is a strong alpha girl. We all know how bossy alpha dachshunds can be and Rosie is proud to be one. She would do best in a home other dogs who are submissive as she expects to be boss. She would likely do best with a male dog. Rosie would like a home without cats as she has a high prey drive. Rosie likes people and any children in her forever home should be older than 10 years of age. She is fiercely independent but loves to cuddle when given the opportunity. Once she is head of the pack, she is sweet and motherly to the other pups. Rosie is 95% housetrained but sometimes she does get distracted when she goes outside at potty time and is too busy sniffing to go so she should be monitored. Like all dogs, she will need to be confident in her environment to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. Beautiful, spunky fun loving Rosie is looking for her forever home. Are you going to be the one to open your arms and heart and welcome her home? She’s waiting for you!

Story
Max is a handsome 3 year old long hair red dachshund (24 pounds) who along with his best friend, Louie, a 2 year old handsome Isabella boy (14 pounds) is looking for a forever home where they will be treasured. Max and Louie are very calm boys who are bonded to each other. They are social boys who are extremely loving. Max and Louie are good with other dogs and have not been cat tested. They are good with respectful children over the age of 8 years of age. Max is a bit chunky and Louie is quite slim. Their foster dad in Louisiana, says that Max will steal Louie’s food (and Louie lets him!) so he has been feeding them separately so that Louie can gain a bit of weight and Max can loose some. They are not food aggressive in any way however Max is a foodie and will really try and eat everyone’s food! Max is a character! He is a hunter and unlike most dachshunds he is not adverse to the rain. Louie is a comic and will make you laugh! Both of these boys love sofa time and would like a home where they could sleep in the big bed with their forever family. They love to play and rough house with each other. Louie and Max do not seem to understand that pools are not for walking on and any home with a pool will need to be alarmed and / or fenced. Max and Louie are house trained and use a doggy door in their foster home. They do not like crates however perhaps in time and with patience they could be trained. These wonderful boys’ new family will need to help to have a regular potty schedule. All rescue dogs go thru a period of adjustment so understanding and patience is important. These wonderful bonded boys are ready for their loving home. Are you going to be the lucky one to welcome them into your family ? Apply to adopt them today !

Story
Are you ready for the best BUDDY you will ever have? Buddy is a 26 pound, 4 year old, long hair dachshund mix who is looking for someone to love him! Buddy is a sweet boy who has been neglected and we suspect, abused, in his past. He is very skittish and needs a home that will understand that each and every new thing is scary for him, and that he needs time and patience to become used to each new exposure. Buddy is looking for a FEMALE ONLY home, as he is very fearful of men. Buddy would do very well in a home with another dog who is confident but friendly, and would help Buddy become more comfortable in his surroundings. Buddy is very loving. He will take time to trust, but once he does, he is loving and cuddly. He squirms and wiggles on his back for belly rubs in his foster home in Florida, and will cautiously engage in play with other dogs once he feels confident with them. Buddy is nervous around children, and for this reason we are recommending a home with children over the age of 13 and only female. He has not been cat tested. Buddy gets along well with other dogs. Buddy is very submissive and fearful, and must be treated calmly, with kindness and compassion. Buddy is house trained and doggy door trained, but not crate trained. Like all rescue dogs he will need to be confident in his new home to have good potty habits. All rescue dogs go through a period of adjustment, so understanding and patience is important. Buddy is leash trained, but because he is very nervous he can be skittish on walks. Buddy is looking for a home where he can sleep in the big bed. Buddy needs his new family to give him time and let him come to them when he first comes home and when he is experiencing something new. This sweet boy is a bit of a fussy eater. We believe it is because he has been so abused. He is scared to eat if someone is watching him. If he is scared or upset, he will not eat. For all of his nervousness, Buddy is a fabulously loving guy. He can be funny - he will gather treasures and take them outside to a safe spot that he considers his own. We would like a home with a very secure fenced yard and doggy door for Buddy. Buddy needs love. He needs compassion. He needs someone with a calm and loving heart who will give him all the love he so deserves! Are you the one that will show Buddy that the world is a safe and wonderful place? Apply to adopt this loving sweet boy today!
