HazelFemaleDachsound/ Jack Russel Terrier MixDOB: 05/20/2019Adoption Fee: $200.00Hi! My name used to be Gravy and now its Hazel. I was adopted from here when I was younger and I was brought back. I would love to be in a home with a calm dog or just be an only dog. I'm very sweet but my anxiety gets to me sometimes. Come meet me and see if I'm a perfect match for your home. Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
We had two dogs who had puppies, and he is one of them. We gave him away but later found him at the pound, about to be put down. We rescued him and have had him for two years. He's a great dog who loves attention but doesn't get along with his brother. With a second child on the way, it's becoming increasingly challenging to provide him with the attention and care he deserves. He has some special needs, including skin and seizure issues, which require regular medication and vet visits. We want to find a loving home for him, where he can receive the necessary care and attention. We are open to the option of taking him back if needed, as his well-being is our top priority.

Story
Twiglet was picked up as a stray by animal control & looked like he was on his own for a while as he was quite underweight. He was understandably anxious & took a while to decompress in his foster home. Once he came out of his shell, he proved to be a funny, playful, cuddly boy with his foster family but still distrusts strangers. Twiglet will need an understanding adopter who is willing to take the relationship slowly & build trust with him. He is fine with the teen in his foster home but would not do well with small children as sudden movements & noise startle him. Twiglet walks well on a leash, sleeps overnight in his crate & is consistent with going potty outside with a regular schedule. He gets along with other dogs, we have not exposed him to cats. Twiglet is est 2-3 yrs old, 11 lbs & a typical Dachshund. To know them is to love them! ♥ If you'd like to find out more about making this gorgeous pup a member of your family & to see whether (s)he would be a good fit in your home, please fill out our adoption form here: https://airtable.com/shrlL2pbqSGTRJiyc *If you live in rented accommodation, please familiarise yourself with the property management's pet policy. Our adoption fee covers an initial comprehensive veterinary examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test, (for dogs > 12 months), parasite screening with treatment if needed, flea/tick treatment if needed, microchip, spay/neuter, heartworm preventative medication, (for dogs > 3 months) plus any other medication or treatment needed up until the day they are adopted.
