You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Shaggy, a lively, 10yr old, Dachshund/yorkie/chihuahua mix with plenty of energy and affection for any family.  He gets along with some dogs, he does better if the resident dog is already established in his home.  He hasn't really lived with cats but at events he doesn't seem to even notice them so he would probably not care much about them.  Shaggy enjoys perching on top of the couch to survey his home, cuddling with humans, and observing all the household activities.  Though he is not very interested in toys, this might be due to his recent dental procedure.  He will also need a diet of softer foods.  He was neutered at the age of 10 so he does still need work with his marking tendencies but does well with a belly band.  Shaggy is also good on a leash and enjoys going for walks.  He is also crate trained.  He is a velcro dog, extreme version, and he does not do well being separated from his person.  He would do best in a home where someone is there most of the time and he is a barker so he might not be a good fit for someone who shares a wall.  He had a rough last decade and will need someone who will be patient and work with him on his separation anxiety and training.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. f you are interested in Axel, please respond with information about yourself(home, family, other pets, yard/fence, work hours). Although Axel is NOT with our rescue, we are helping his family find a great home for him. NO phone calls, please. What a gorgeous red head!! Axel is every bit lovable as he is adorable. He had initially came from a breeding situation that had to give him up due to their own family issues. Luckily he went to a loving rescue home that has cared for him in his time of need. He has lived with other dogs, kids and even cats. We are told Axel is very sweet and loving, and he give the very best hugs!! He is just two years old, and perhaps did not have a lot of training in his young life. So, he is now working to perfect his housebreaking skills. For the time being his family has him wearing a belly band to prevent marking in the house. He will get it, with a little patience and consistency Axel will understand. He will do well in a home that has previous dachshund experience. They are a wonderful breed, but like all purebreds, they can have their own unique issues and needs.
