Look at this little muffin face, Stormy. She was at the shelter as a teenie tiny baby. So grateful to our amazing fosters that brought her home to give her the love she deserves and just look at her flourishing. She LOVES all of her foster siblings, big and small. Obsessed with her foster mom, showering her with kisses at every turn. Her mix is a bit of a mystery but here is what we can tell you. She's about 2 months old, 5 pounds, has chonky little legs suggesting dachshund, a beautiful face with soft floppy ears, maybe lab????? She is 100% snuggly, kissy, soft, warm, friendly, pee pad trained and coming to Mass in a few weeks. Thank you for choosing rescue. Story
This handsome pup is Biff! He’s an adult low rider that lives to hang with his people! Biff is a designer mix breed pup. We think there’s a splash of Dachshund, a pinch of Hound, dash of Lab, a touch of Pittie, and a sprinkling of Mr Nice Pup.  Biff is excited for life and happy to be here. He’s a true joy to be around.  Biff knows his manners and would appreciate a confident owner willing to continue to help guide him. When first meeting people, Biff can be a little nervous but after a proper introduction, he makes fast friends. He’d love to hang out at breweries, go on hikes, or just enjoys leisurely stroll with his new family. Biff has spent some time with a professional trainer and did very well there! He learned the basics and his trainer will be happy to review everything Biff learned with his new family.
Biff would be a great addition to a home that already has a calm and confident dog.  He’s great with kids and currently had 2 legged family members that are between the ages of 8 & 21. If you'd like to make this handsome pup part of your family, please let us know here: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. We'll forward the app to his foster who will reach out to answer any questions, share pictures, and talk all things Biff. ================================================= If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
Can anyone resist this guy?? Meet Butter, a charming 16-pound piebald dachshund with a stunning coat of white, black, and tan. At around 4 years old, Butter is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped & on preventative. He recently had a dental cleaning. His silky-soft fur is simply irresistible! Butter loves to snuggle and is happiest when he can curl up across your lap for a cozy nap. He adores his people and follows them from room to room, showing just how much he enjoys being close. When left alone, he can get a bit upset but will settle down. He is crate trained. Butter is also a great car companion. Walking around the neighborhood is one of Butter’s favorite activities. He thrives when he can join a group of dogs, sniffing around and watching squirrels. He is prey driven & will chase after things so he MUST be kept on leash at all times or in a secure fenced in yard when off leash. Due to a sensitive stomach, Butter eats only Hill's Prescription Diet I/D small bites in chicken flavor. He loves his food & has no trouble finishing his meals. Butter does see the resident cats and barks at them. He seems a little too interested in them so we are working on this!! He is a total love bag & will make someone or a family a great addition. Please apply for Butter at coaldr.org if you are interested in adopting him. His fee is $500

Story
Hello! My name is Boone, and I am the goodest boy! The foster lady calls me “King of Chaos”, whatever that means, because I like to chew stuff. But I’m a puppy so what do you expect? I’m looking for someone other than this lady to give me a home so I can have stuff to destroy as much as I want. Oh, and a fenced yard to play in, and another active canine friend would be awesomeness, too! If you have all those cool things, I’d love to be your goodest boy forever and ever and always. Boone is neutered and up to date on vaccinations and ready to find his forever home! Boone is fostered in Smithfield, VA.

Story
This handsome young man is Clifford. He is an amazingly beautiful dog, both inside and out. Clifford has a complicated past that has left him with some anxiety. He wants to be with his person to assure him that all is well in his world. As he is twice abandoned in his short life, we are dedicated to making sure that Clifford finds his forever home this time. Clifford first came to the shelter as a small puppy with wounds where his mouth had been tied shut. He still retains scars from the abuse - some you see and some you don't. He was adopted as a puppy but was returned to the shelter. Clifford's behavior tells a story of not enough structure and consistency in his life. His anxiety shows in his high-energy reaction to people - jumping and biting at the hem of shirts. He also has some separation anxiety so his perfect home will allow him to spend lots of time with his family. His perfect home will also have only older children over 12 and must be devoted to giving Clifford structure, fun, and consistent reminders of acceptable behaviors. Clifford also needs lots of exercise and lots of toys. He loves toys and snacks and belly rubs are a must! Clifford is great with all people he meets, and has been well-socialized. His foster mom takes him to work each day and he loves visiting with all of her coworkers. Clifford is completely house trained. He is also crate trained, but experiences anxiety when left in the crate so the crate should be away from items he could chew or damage. A toy or Kong may help him to pass the time in his crate more comfortably. If you have the time to invest into Clifford's comfort and routine, he will make the most amazing family member and will reward you with devotion and unconditional love for the rest of his life. Clifford is fostered in Smithfield, VA.
