I have traveled all the way from Alabama. I lost my family to a car accident but I was loved most of my life. I have met a few people who couldn't take the best care of me so I was rescued and found love again. Several sudden changes in my journey have been hard, but I still want to live my best life! As a social butterfly, meeting new friends is a blast and my manners are spectacular. Gentle reminders are helpful and I learn new skills. Learning and loving are my specialties. I am told that I am smart, adaptable, and a gentle fella. SIT, NO, and COME are my homework words and I am a quick learner. Can I tell you about my house manners? I sleep through the night in my cozy kennel and am always happy in the morning to go on my walk. Being house-trained makes me feel proud.. In my foster home, I am friendly with my foster dog friends. They think I am goofy with a gentle demeanor. I am ready to be a part of a family and call them my very own. I am a survivor of heartworm. I am on kennel rest for several weeks but will be ready to go on longer walks and go anywhere with you after I take time to rest and recover. Can we plan a time to meet? We are purebred dachshunds, with slightly different colored patches but all dachshund ALL the time! We are your standard dachshund size and have the temperament that would be great as a binge watching buddy, gaming friend or even a professional nappers (seriously we're that good.) Chico does have a seizure disorder that is controlled well with phenobarbital. His seizures were only about 1 a week but no one wants to let it happen so the meds were started and work GREAT!
