SWEET LITTLE HOMEBODY  DOB 12/14/24, estimated adult weight ~35 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I’m Van (as in Dick Van Dyke), a sweet, easygoing, and gentle black dachshund/ lab mix fella who absolutely loves to hang out with my hoomans and other dogs. All I want is for all the 2-legged and 4-legged critters around me to be happy. I love my creature comforts and will gladly fall asleep in my foster pawrents arms. When I wake up in the morning, I usually roll over to show my belly and ask someone to hit the snooze button. My 15-pound Basenji/ Dachshund mix momma Bruni followed my foster pawrents home from a walk; they invited her inside; and several weeks later, she birthed my #movie-star-litter in foster care! Since I weighed 14 pounds at three months old, my dad must’ve been bigger, perhaps a Labrador. So I’ll likely be a medium-sized dog who weighs about 35 pounds when I’m full grown. I heard Foster Daddy tell someone recently, “Van is a sweet little homebody.” I love to play tug-of-war with my sisters and tussle with Bruni, but even more so, I love a good nap. I’m learning to go on walks and adore sitting on someone's lap during car rides. I’m picking up potty-training faster than my sisters, but I’m still a work in progress. I’m gentle with the resident cat and the elderly family dog. I’m easily startled by new creatures and a big wuss when strange dogs bark at me. If you’re a family who’s looking for a laid-back, playful but medium-energy pup who lives and breathes for social interaction, I’m the fella for you! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to cover your face with mushy puppy kisses. HOPE ID D25-0120-0006 If you are interested in Van and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. Story
SUBLIME CUTENESS FACTOR  DOB 12/14/24, estimated adult weight ~25 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I'm Grace (as in Grace Kelly), a sweet, shy black Dachshund/ Schnauzer mix gal who distinguishes herself by my demure eye contact and affectionate nature. I absolutely love to be petted and cuddled by my hoomans, and my eyes transparently express my contentment as I soak up their TLC! However, I’m not one to demand attention. In fact, I defer to my more assertive siblings as I’m perfectly happy to stay in the background and wait to be picked up last. When I see something interesting, I check with my foster pawrents that it’s okay with a countenance that really bowls them over for its cuteness factor. Once I feel safe and comfy, my playful side comes out! I love tackling my sisters and brother, chasing my toys, and romping around the house. I’m the gentlest of my siblings when I socialize with the resident cat and elderly family dog. I'm picking up potty-training, but I'm still a work in progress. Occasionally I'm prone to a little “excitement wee.” My 15-pound Basenji/ Dachshund mix momma Bruni followed my foster pawrents home from a walk; they invited her inside; and several weeks later, she birthed my #movie-star litter in foster care! Perhaps a standard-size Schnauzer, my dad must've been bigger than Bruni, so I'll likely weigh about 25 pounds when I'm full grown. I’m ready now to settle into my forever home. I think it’d be the cat’s meow if my new family would take me on walks and adventures so I can see the big, broad world. On the other hand, I’m best suited for someone who’s sensitive to my need for reassurance. If you're a family who's looking for an adorable, loving little companion with scruffy fur that embellishes my muzzle, I'm the gal for you! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to cover your face with mushy puppy kisses. HOPE ID D25-0120-0010 If you are interested in Grace and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Story
BORN ADVENTURER  DOB 12/14/24, estimated adult weight ~25-30 lbs. Hey there, everyone! I'm Hedy (as in Hedy Lamarr), an energetic, playful, and surprisingly cuddly Dachshund/ Labrador mix gal with mesmerizing pale green eyes. I’m a real people dog, and, when I’m tuckered out from puppy playtime, I’m happy to fall asleep cradled in my foster pawrents’ arms. I have an adventurous streak and am a confident explorer. In fact, when I was just hours old, I tried to climb through the wire crate and got my head stuck. (Hence, I was named for “Hedy” Lamarr, which started my foster pawrents’ naming the rest of my litter for vintage movie stars.) My 15-pound Basenji/ Dachshund mix momma Bruni followed my foster pawrents home from a walk; they invited her inside; and several weeks later, she birthed my #movie-star litter in foster care! My long legs, speed while running, and brown coat all indicate that perhaps my dad was a Chocolate Lab. Since he must've been bigger than Bruni, I'll likely weigh about 25-30 pounds when I'm full grown. What sets me apart from my siblings? Well, I was the first to enjoy walking on a leash. I’m the quickest to run to the door so I can come back inside. I’m an attentive listener and very intelligent, so I’ve already learned a few basic commands like “come” and “sit.” I also know what I want and don’t want to do, so I grumble more than my siblings when I’m made to move when that’s not on my agenda. Now I’m ready to bring joy and fun into my forever home. If you're a family who will welcome a born adventurer who’s always ready for playtime, I'm the gal for you! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to cover your face with mushy puppy kisses. HOPE ID D25-0120-0008 If you are interested in Hedy and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Story
Dottie is an adorable dachshund-terrier mix that is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. She’s an adorable low-rider with a unique soft salt and pepper coat. While we don’t know her exact age, we believe she’s at least four years old. She is extremely people-social and loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for cuddles. She’s playful with our resident dog, but could easily thrive as the only pet in the home as well. Dottie is housebroken, intuitive, and sweet, though she can be a bit shy around loud or large men. She’s never shown any signs of aggression, just needs a little time to warm up and to know they won’t hurt her. Dottie is ready to find her forever family and would make a perfect, loving companion for someone looking for a sweet, loyal dog. She is perfect! 🐕🩷 Dottie is a female Dachshund mix with an estimated date of birth of 3/1/2021. She weighs 13.6 lbs.
