Story
Baby is a 8 year old Dobie (about 65 lbs) from Pennsylvania. We’ve had her since she was 6 weeks old. Affectionate and loving, she will stick to you like glue. Very curious but respectful of other dogs. She’ll rarely instigate a shouting match, but is quick to make her bark heard, if challenged. She’s extremely patient with our prodding son, and certainly loves any opportunity to stretch her legs- be it a sprinting cat chase (she has never hurt our cat, just pokes at him with her nose and loves to chase him), a stroll around the neighborhood, or a fun game of fetch. Fortunately, she also loves to laze around in the house and relax. She is definitely an inside dog. She is up to date on all shots and has a clean bill of health. Unfortunately, we will be moving onto a military base soon, and their breed restrictions will not allow her on. We will be heartbroken to let her go, but hope to find her a loving forever home with lots of space and a pet parent with lots of love to share

ADOPTION PENDING! This dog is matched with a potential adopter and is not currently available. However, you’re welcome to apply! While the chances of being matched with this dog are low, your application helps us get to know you and find the perfect dog for your family. A girl who knows her own mind! Meet Babs! Babs is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Born on November 6, 2024, sweet Babs is a young Doberman Pinscher mix puppy and part of our Looney Tunes litter. She has the classic black and rust Doberman coloring, and we estimate she will be a large dog when full grown. And those ears? Her ears are floppy, funny, and frame her face in the sweetest way. Babs traveled with her mom and eight siblings from a shelter in Devine, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. Funny little Babs gets her name from a bunny character in the Looney Tunes universe. Like her namesake, she is cheerful, lovable, and irrepressible. This affectionate, loyal little girl knows her own mind and what she wants. Babs loves to be with her people; cuddling is tops on her list of things to do. She also enjoys giving kisses and being held like a baby (hard to resist doing this because she is so cute!). Babs is an active puppy who thrives on mental and physical activity, and it delights her when you join in with the antics. Though still young, she prefers playing to napping, and the kids and other dogs in her foster home are great companions for romps and explores.  Babs relishes puzzles, treat balls, and games that challenge her. Running around outside gives her much joy, and she has yet to meet a stick or leaf she didn’t enjoy playing with. Like many short haired dogs, Babs is not very fond of the cold; she would appreciate some stylish outerwear for the cold and wet season. After playing, she is content to snuggle in your lap while she recharges. Babs is picking up new skills and has started crate training (she would rather be with you, but she’s settling into it), and she has begun potty and leash training. Babs will start obedience shortly; with her smarts and intense love for food, she should pick it up quickly. Babs’ ideal home? It might be yours! Babs seeks a home with people to love who will adore her and see that she gets the physical and mental activity she needs to be a happy, well-rounded pup. Games, toys, food, and people to cuddle would be high on her wish list, along with opportunities to explore and play outdoors (and a dog coat, if the weather is cold). A friendly pup, she will thrive in a home with dogs, cats, and children. If you are looking for that loving, sweet, funny, pup who will be both a workout buddy and lap warmer, she’s the pup for you! Want to meet Babs? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. A new friend for the New Year! Meet Lola! Lola is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Looking for a new friend for the New Year? Check out Lola! Lola is an adult Doberman Pinscher who we rescued from Texas, along with her nine puppies (our Looney Tunes litter). Lovely Lola is a leggy adult dog with the classic Doberman black and rust coloring; she’s about 60 pounds with a docked tail and cropped ears (though her ears were not properly posted).  Lola displays some of the typical Doberman Pinscher personality traits; she is smart and quick to learn, athletic (she really, really loves playing ball), and affectionate with and protective of her people. Loyal and dignified, she believes her place is by your side, and she enjoys outdoor walks with her people (the cold, not so much!). Lola has quickly made friends with the resident Doberman Pinscher and would do well with well-balanced dogs. She is friendly with kids, but since she is a tall, active dog (who doesn’t always know where she is in space and can be endearingly klutzy), she probably will do best with kids age 5 and up. Lola would do best in a home without cats. Lola is smart and eager to learn, and other than playing fetch, she wants nothing more than to earn your praise. Her entire body lights up when you let her know she was done well. Lola quickly picked up her basic obedience commands, and she is crate trained as well as potty trained. She walks well on her leash and sleeps through the night. A chill girl, smart as a whip, she is ready to work for her new family. Lola’s ideal home? Lola is seeking someone to love who will love her in return. She would love an active household; a smart girl like her might get bored in a couch potato existence. Since this medium energy girl loves to play fetch, a fenced yard would be a bonus (and a great way to exercise her physically and mentally). She would do well with kids older than 5 and other well-balanced dogs. Lola is looking to make a new special friend in 2025 – is it you? Is your New Year’s resolution to make new friends? Make Lola’s dreams come true and adopt this best friend forever. Visit our website to learn how you can adopt Lola today! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Story
Meet Tweety Bird! Tweety Bird is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Born on November 6, 2024, goofy Tweety Bird is that rarity in rescue. He’s a purebred! DNA testing on his sibling shows they are 100% Doberman pinscher. Tweety Bird displays the rust and red Doberman coloring, and we estimate he will be a large dog when grown (mama is around 60 pounds). His ears have not been cropped; his floppy ears frame his face and are really adorable. Part of our Looney Tunes litter, Tweety Bird traveled with his mom and eight siblings from a shelter in Devine, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. While the cartoon character he is named for can be, well, a bit mean and terrorizes poor Slyvester the Cat, our Tweety Bird is lovable, affectionate, and playful. He is quite content to sprawl next to you, upside down, while you relax. And he wholeheartedly believes people make the best dog beds! While he has cuddling down to an art, Tweety also likes to play and romp. Playmates such as children or other dogs are always welcome; this social boy enjoys company of all sorts. He definitely has the smarts for which Dobermans are known. He loves puppy puzzles, quickly figuring out his first one. His lick mat is also a big hit with Tweety, though he feels it should be more of a bite mat (more efficient way to get the treat off of it!). One of his favorite toys holds a bully stick, and he is quite fond of it, carrying it around the house seeking a nice patch of warm sun where he can settle in for a relaxing chew. After getting in his play time, snuggling (hopefully with a person) is next on Tweety’s agenda. Tweety Bird is picking up his skills quickly. He will spend several hours in his crate, and he is progressing well through his potty training. Tweety has figured out how to come indoors using the doggie door and is working on using it to go outside. He will begin leash and obedience training shortly. Tweety Bird had an infection in his paw that caused some pain and swelling in his leg; he responded well to the medication and has recovered nicely. Tweety Bird’s ideal home? It could be yours! This adorable pup seeks a home with people to love who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Being a Doberman, he will thrive on an active lifestyle and enjoys puzzles or other activities to keep him mentally engaged, too. Cuddles and snuggles, as well as fun chew toys, are a must for this sweet, affectionate boy. Other dogs and kids would be icing on the cake for him. If this sounds like your home, what are you waiting for? Find out how to adopt Tweety Bird today! Want to meet Tweety Bird? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information!
