Story
He is still young at heart -just a teenager- and working on being on a leash, under socialized but affectionate and trusting of people. Sometimes he barks when he first meets people, which scares them, but he wants affection. He loves to be outside, he will bark at birds and clouds. Crate trained and fostered with other dogs, he thrives with other dogs to follow. This petite blue dude appears to be a blue Doberman - DNA tests say he is majority Dobie with some Pittie. Vaccinated, Neutered, Microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention. Abandoned in an apartment with other dogs, Cobalt was fearful of everything and desperately needed kindness and patience. Story
Commander Bo is a stunning strong blue Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail. He has the 'look' that everyone loves - however, even he ended up abandoned in Brazoria County. Bo was skinny, poor coat, heartworm positive and with an URI when we met him. He was quick to take meals and guarded his food/treats initially. With time, he took treats gently when reminded and would be gentle with his foster humans. Due to Bo's size and assertiveness, older children would be ok. Bo needs to be given directions otherwise, he will do whatever he wants. He appears to be around 6 years old and future medical needs will include dental care. Bo rides nicely in a car and likes to go for walks, leash training is new to him, but he listens to confident adults. He is used to being the biggest dog around, so he does play with other dogs - mainly females and a few younger puppy males. Bo will challenge other strong willed males (bulldogs, alphas, chihuahuas) by barking and lunging. Based on Bo's need to be the 'Commander' of the pack - he would be best in a home with female dogs, big girls who will play with him. Bo is crate trained and enjoys a large comforter for curling up. He has not shown interest in toys. His play style is very juvenile and the other lab puppies tolerate his nipping and mouthy (grabbing by the neck) play. We suspect he did not have other dog friends before or this is his first time being encouraged to 'be a dog' and play supervised but unrestricted. We would not recommend dog parks for older dogs like Bo who lack some social clues and see most dog behavior as threatening. He can be introduced to dogs who will be part of his family or regular playmates, supervised for corrections. There is no doubt, Bo loves people and attention. He gives hugs to his foster mom and has quickly learned 'sit' - a necessary command since he would headbutt people out of excitement. He is housetrained but will mark. Vaccinated, Neutered, Microchipped, heartworm treated-on prevention. Story
Christopher appears to be just 5 months old, losing his puppy teeth and with mostly adult teeth - his small size is likely the result of poor nutrition. He is thriving, eating, growing! His coat was blotchy and with a skin infection, he needed time for his gut to recover on quality food while healing his skin. Fawn (light brown, with rust markings) coloring typically do have sensitive skin/coats. As he appears to be a purebred Doberman with a long tail, floppy ears. Dewormed, Vaccinated, Neutered, Microchipped and on prevention - he is ready to grow in a forever family in 2025. Story
Indy quickly becomes everyone’s favorite Dobie due to his agreeable nature and persistence to live life to its fullest. He spends time lounging on his orthopedic dog bed between meals, barking if breakfast is late -then barks to announce its time to check the yard and stretch our legs. Happy to sunbath and monitor the other dogs, a peacemaker - he will bark to tattle on the dogs not playing nice. He has some white hairs and scars around his face, skin tags and one unruly ear crop - he is neutered, Heartworm treated and on prevention. Required treatment for skin and respiratory infections at intake. His blue coat is still growing back. He showed signs of neglect and had been abandoned as just a skeleton of a dog. Given a clean bill of health - he is adoptable (approximately 6 years old). He is on joint supplements and encouraged to continue to exercise to regain muscle. Pulled from SPCA Brazoria County in Lake Jackson, original intake from southern Brazoria County. Neutered, heartworm treated, vaccinated and microchipped. He has no current medical needs. Fostered in Texas. *Adoption Fee includes XL crate fee on transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Chandler Goose

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. HIS-tory: Chandler lived with a young family in an apartment (purchased from a breeder) until he was 'too big' and surrendered to a shelter. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb dog. Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He has been slow introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play.
