Story
Hey there! I’m Watson, a 2 year old male Doberman. Howdy y’all! This rescue life is kinda weird isn’t it? I am BIG Boy from the Carolinas that found myself in need of a new home. Luckily the folks here at SHDR took me in and are helping work on that! I’m basically a big puppy who has finally opened up and really learned how to be a dog. I really like playing with my foster siblings, but since I’m such a big boy, I can overwhelm them sometimes. I would love a home either all to myself or one with dogs as big or bigger than me to play with! I would also love a patient and understanding family who will work with me to overcome my trust issues and anxieties, while also having a confident leadership style that I can learn from. Story
Hi there! I'm Jinx, a two year old female Doberman. Have you ever heard the saying "when you love something, you have to let it go"? Well, that's kinda what happened to me. My previous family was great and they wanted the best for me, so when they weren't able to take care of me the way I needed, they reached out to rescue. I'm sure glad they did! I'm in a fun foster home with lots of other dogs and funky farm animals that keep me entertained for hours! I especially like playing with the puppy that's in rescue too! I would love a forever home that has lots for me to do to keep me active and occupied to get all my energy out.  If you are interested in adoption, apply today at sweethomedobermanrescue.org/adoption! ##1988191##

Story
Oh hello! I'm Daphne, a 5 year old female Doberman. Golly! It is SUCH a relief to be in rescue! I came into a shelter in Alabama as a "stray", but it's pretty obvious that I used to be a backyard breeder dog. There's sadly no telling how many litters I've had in the past. But I'm done with all that! I've been spayed and have recovered well in my wonderful foster home. I am a sweet lady who is looking forward to spending my years in a loving forever home. I am VERY affectionate and smart. Don't let my looks fool you! I'm much younger and spunkier than I may seem. I also love to romp and play with other dogs! Sometimes I can be a little bossy, so a home with male or submissive female dogs would be ideal for me. Older children would be great too! Story
Howdy! I’m Shaq, a seven month old male Doberman.  How about this rescue stuff? I went from a rural shelter with my siblings in northern Alabama to a retirement home in Florida! At least that’s what I figure it must be since all the dogs here are ANCIENT! I’m the only puppy on the block, and all these old timers say I’m stinky and annoying… but I’m still here! I am a cuddly, playful puppy who loves wrestling with other dogs (when they give me the time of day) and meeting new pups and people. I will need a forever home with adult dogs to learn from and play with and a guiding hand to help train me to be the best stinky puppy I can be! Story
Howdy howdy! I’m Tobie, a 2 year old male Doberman.  Man, life comes at you fast! I came into rescue after some tough circumstances made my previous owner unable to keep me. Now I’m in a crazy cool foster home that’s some kind of hotel for dogs! I wonder how long I’ll be staying here?I am as sweet at my namesake and as velcro as they come! I LOVE people and get so excited to see you that I do a happy tappy dance! I like other dogs too - though I’ve learned that apparently humping is considered rude I have completed heartworm treatment and am now ready for my forever home! Story
People Stare At Her Like They’ve NEVER Seen A Walking Goddess Freyja is a 1 year old Pointer/Pitbull mix weighing in at 50 lbs. This beautiful girl truly lives up to her name, just like the goddess of love, Freyja is ready to give you all her love and get all yours in return. LOVE is Freyja’s love language, kisses, snuggles, rubs, and all the treats, this girl loves it all. A professional zoomer, Freyja will show you just how fast she is, sometimes she’s not sure if she’s a goddess or The Flash. Maybe she is half goddess/ half flash! Freyja is affectionate, eager to please and a lover of snuggle time. Freyja doesn’t believe only small dogs are lap dogs because she loves to lay in her person’s lap too. Freyja has mastered her doggie manners, she is crate, leash and potty trained. Our girl loves to go on walks and enjoys outside playtime. Absolutely fabulous with kids, dogs and cats, however she’s a little nervous around men at first. A securely fenced in yard is required in Freyja’s new home for all the playtime shenanigans. Extremely food motivated Freyja will do just about anything you want for a treat. Fun, kind natured, loving and energetic Freyja is the whole package. Looking to shower you with all her love, this sweet girl will have you falling head over heels. We don’t know what all Freyja endured in her past but we do know she is resilient, strong and full of love. Let’s rewrite her fairy tale and fill it with all the good things in life… she sure does deserve the best. Will you be her happily ever after? All of our animals are fully vetted which includes spay/neuter, up to date on vaccines, wormed, heartworm tested and treated if necessary, up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention and microchipped) prior to adoption.
