Story
We know there is a mastiff loving home out there for this princess. She is as sweet as she is loving, and surely will keep you on your toes, too!  Zara came to us at 5 months old in April 2023. She is a purebred Dogo Argentino, and an absolute doll baby.  Over the course of the last year several applicants backed out on her because she is deaf. It seems humans panic when they hear the word “deaf”. There is nothing wrong with this sweet dog other than she is attracting applicants with unrealistic expectations or applicants that exaggerate their experience.  She is now 1.5 years old.   Zara loves water, going swimming and sunbathing with her best buds. She loves to burrow under a blanket and share the bed with her humans. Zara has also done well with older children & dogs! She requires a bit of a slower introduction to resident dogs, but we promise slow and steady is worth it. Zara does not care that shes deaf, it doesn’t hold her back from living her very best life & having fun!  Zara will need a *guardian breed experienced owner*. Dogo Argentino’s need a ton of physical and mental stimulation to keep them out of trouble! Zara is a fun girl!  She loves mud, convertible rides, swimming, ball pits, her pack of dog friends, claiming top bunk, and standing on the dresser to check herself out in the mirror! We truely adore this special girl, but there are many Dogo Argentino’s at risk in shelters whoes lives are depending on an experienced foster to take a chance on them.  Zara also deserves to be loved and adored by a family who appreciates and loves her.. and it just hasn’t come along yet Yes, we are being a bit picky with who we will send her off with… but we just can’t see her let down again. Story
"Missing something? Sorry about that, it's probably in my crate! Promise it isn't chewed though, I just like to hide things in my bed! Hi! I'm Cirice! I have a confession to make... I like to hide everything in my bed! I don't chew things up, but I'll definitely snatch any interesting artifact I can find and stash it in my blankets. I get very silly and excited when my foster mom looks in my crate to see what treasures I have scavenged. Anything on the floor is fair game... mostly I collect toys, but I'll also pirate a slipper or flipflop now and then. That being said, I'm a very sensitive girl and if you catch me in the act and tell me 'no', I will never touch it again. I don't fully know what I'm allowed to have and what I'm not, but I don't like to disappoint my foster mom and I listen when she tells me to leave something alone. I am a 5 year old boxer. I was surrendered to Zoe's by a commercial breeder who was downsizing their kennel. Being in a home is all new to me, and sometimes I find it a bit overwhelming. I retreat to my crate when that happens. It helps me feel safe and my foster mom leaves the door open so I can come out when I'm ready. My foster home has other dogs, cats, rabbits, and I get along with everyone. I am shy at first, but my foster dog siblings boost my confidence. I love to follow them around. My foster mom has spent a lot of time with me to help me adjust to life in a family. New things can be very scary. She tells me how proud of me she is every day as my confidence grows. I love treats! I never say no to a pupperoni! I am a chunky gal, and my foster mom is helping me trim down with measured meals and gentle exercise. Leash walking isn't my favorite thing, but I do not pull. I am sensitive to loud noises and I do tend to startle easily. I am looking for a calm home where I can take my time adjusting to my new life, and learn what it means to be part of a family." Cirice is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning. She is kept up to date on monthly parasite prevention. She is being fostered in southern Lancaster county PA and prospective families must be willing to come to her foster home twice. Once to meet her with all members of the family, including resident dogs, and once more to take her home. Although Cirice has never had a potty accident in her foster home, she is newly housebroken and accidents are normal in new environments. Ready to meet Cirice? Go online to www.zoeshouserescue.com and complete an adoption application! We do not always receive applications submitted through adoptapet or petfinder. Story
Palooka is a great dog. But he is need just a little more attention than our family can give him. The kids are going back to school and both parents are working full time now. He has lots of energy during the day and he is very snuggly in the evening (my favorite part). He is great with our kids and other dog. He is too curious for our cats to be comfortable with, and they let him know when he's too close. He loves meeting new people and can't wait to see you.
