Story
Kodak is looking for their forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: Kodak (Koko for short) is quick to steal your heart with his puppy eyes. He is a dog who loves the company of people for an overdose of pets and belly rubs, and will seemingly begin to melt into your hands when you're giving them to him. When it's time for some activity, Kodak loves a good walk. He especially loves to keep his nose to the ground to explore, and would love either a backyard or someone who will take him on long walks to take in all the smells. He seems completely potty trained as far as his foster can tell, and has not had any accidents in the house or his crate. Kodak is an easy going guy, he is happy to hang around by himself but will get up to show you how excited he is to see you! He loves a good sniffari adventure and will wait politely by the door until you are ready to leave! On days when you can't be giving him attention, Kodak has done well in his crate and loves a good nap on a soft bed. Kodak can get a little nervous around other dogs, and needs a slow introduction when meeting them. However, he is doing well with the resident dog at his foster home now that they've become accustomed to each other, and they even play the occasional game of tug-of-war with some toys. He's great with meeting new humans too, but we are working on him not jumping since he's just so excited to meet new people, and he also can pull on his leash when he's excited about his walk. Koko would add a ton of love and happiness to any family looking for a furry friend, so reach out to meet Koko today! ATTRIBUTES: Kodak has done well in foster with other dogs but requires a slow introduction with dogs. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application Daisy is a wrinkly 150-pound Neapolitan mastiff, a superstar pop singer looking for her forever bandmates. History: She came to MTM from Virginia Beach, VA.  She was purchased from a breeder and given to another family before being surrendered to MTM.  Likes:  Daisy's love language is physical touch.  Not necessarily to be pet, but she always has to know you’re nearby.  She will lie on your feet to be as close as she can.  She loves treats and will “talk” to you when she knows you’re about to give her one.  Dislikes:  She dislikes being alone for long periods of time and gets anxious. Personality: Sweet, loveable, playful, and easygoing.  Temperament: Gentle despite her size.  She is calm and intelligent.  Great on a leash and at the vet.  She takes meds with no issues and has no issue being handled. Energy level: She has low energy; sometimes may enjoy bursts of activity but is mostly laid-back and relaxed.  She enjoys walks but has no need for an intense exercise session. Favorite activities: Most definitely is laying on the floor as close as possible to her family.  Her ideal day consists of a movie marathon and simply being with her humans.  She does like other dogs, but her humans are #1.  She is also a beautiful singer and loves to serenade her family Challenges: Daisy wants to be closest to her humans, so if other Velcro dogs are in the house it could hurt some feelings.  She would do better with other dogs in the home that are not Velcro so she can get her love bucket overflowing.  She does have the potential for separation anxiety. Any Medical issues? Daisy recently had her double entropion surgery for her cherry eyes as well as TPLO surgery and is recovering nicely.  She still has some chronic skin issues so will need an owner who can give her a daily wipe down of her wrinkles.   What would be the best kind of home? Daisy would love a work-from-home parent.  She adores people, loves car rides, and would be a wonderful vacation companion.  A single-level home or limited access to stairs would be best for her.  She will also need an owner to keep her face, eyes, and wrinkles cleaned and able to bathe her once a week.       Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Our rescue policy requires the following: Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt a giant breed dog to homes where the dog will have access to highly varnished hardwood steps inside the home. Any inside steps to which the dog(s) have access, must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit. Methods or devices using pain or force on the dog to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior is prohibited. Applications for giant breed dogs must be submitted by the property owner. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Veterinary records will be checked. All references must be checked before any visitation of the dog is permitted at the foster home. All family members must be present during the home visit to the applicant's home. Any dog(s) in the applicant's home must have an introductory meeting with the rescue dog being considered, before any adoption can be completed. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption. Exceptions to this policy can be found on the Adoptable Dog Page.
