Story
Meet Penn, aka Fluffy.  Penn is an easy going long-haired gray and white male kitten who appreciates the basics of life...food, fun, and snuggles!  You will see him explore and get the occasional zoomies, but the majority of the time Penn can be found sleeping in the sunlight or in one of his foster families laps.  He does great around young kids and his siblings (other cats), we are not sure how he will be around dogs.  He is fixed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200 To adopt Penn, email us at kakf3133@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 9:36 am

Story
Meet Samuelson.. Samuelson had a VERY rough go in his life. We assume that he was a "street cat" for most, if not all of his life. One day, Samuelson was found by a kind person, and he was in very BAD condition. The poor guy was basically one large matt of fur, with a severely injured eye, partial paralysis of his facial muscles, and a HIGH fever. He was not neutered and we guess around 8 years old. Well, as luck would have it for Samuelson, we were able to get his fever down, with an antibiotic injection, shaved his matting and began to work on fixing his eye. He was a very grumpy cat at this point. Fast forward a few weeks, and facial paralysis not improving, we elected to remove his damaged eye as it was not healing and causing him lots of discomfort. Once that eye was out, Sam was a new cat. He has healed up and is now looking for a forever home who will love him for his unique look and extremely loving personality. Unfortunately, Samuelson IS FIV AND FELV POSITIVE. He will therefore need a home with either other friendly FELV positive cats, OR, a home without other cats. Samuelson loves to be carried and snuggled, and uses the litterbox here. Overall we can't say enough good things about him. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and FELV/FIV positive. If you are interested in giving this sweet boy a home, call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov with any questions. FELV/FIV cats can live long and meaningful lives if kept indoors and away from contagious disease (they do have a weakened immune system).

Story
April is a beautiful, sweet, talkative girl looking for her forever home. She was found lying by the side of the road and never reclaimed. She is very laid back and affectionate and would make a great companion. She is estimated to be about 7 and needs to be on a prescriptionl diet as she was found to have some kidney stones. They are not currently bothering her and she uses her litter box faithfully. Her foster mom says she loves to be brushed and purrs when being held. She really, really does not like other cats. Her adoption fee is WAIVED to an approved adopter. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and has received routine labwork. Please contact us via email to get an application emailed to you. Meetings are scheduled after the application is approved. Please email us to start the process.

Good with cats,
Story
Hello! They call me Thumper. I am a medium hair grey kitten who is quite bashful. I will come by you at night and will accept petting but Im still working on trusting people. I am 8 months old.I've learned while being in my foster home that the other kitties come to my foster family for affection. I say to myself Oh, I wish I could do that too. I watch and watch and guess what? I have started to come around and be closer to people in the past week. One day I got so brave I hopped on my foster Moms lap when she was watching TV. They call that baby steps but for a shy girl like me it's like one giant step.Maybe my new family will be understanding on my shyness and can understand that time & patience for me to come to you. I know you'll have a lap waiting for me.I started my life living in the backyard of a wonderful Chicago family. They took great care of our mom when they realized she was going to have babies. They brought us inside to be born. Thankfully, we were born there not outside where we had no way of staying warm or finding food. They then called my foster family who sees this quite often; so many homeless kitties and they continued to take care of us in a safe, indoor environment. I love to play with my siblings and the other foster family cats. In the beginning I was not quite a lap kitty and Im a bit scared of people but if you are willing to work with me, Im sure I will build a trust with you.Ill tell some secrets my foster Mom learned about me to build my trust. Classical music calms down and I LOVE Made by Nacho treats, well really any treats get this girl motivated!Know what I also love? My sister Po. You might have seen the pictures of me cuddling with a white kitty. That's Po. She's braver than me and I hope when a family comes to meet me, they can also meet Po and we go to our forever home together. My foster family has been so wonderful in taking care of me and my siblings. My other siblings have all found homes and now it's my turn. I haven't been around young kids or dogs. I might do ok if they don't scare me. If I get scared I might hide and run.I will get close to you during day if you have those treats nearby. Please consider adopting me with Po. That would be so nice if I could go with to my new home with one of my her as it will make the transition easier. You will fall in love with them instantly and we can be one big family! Thanks,ThumperThumper and Po are located in our foster home in Hanover Park. To meet Thumper and/or her siblings please complete an adoption application.https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-cat-adoption/Thank you for choosing to adopt!
