Story
Mallory is a gentle kitty on the shy side. She would rather hide than face the unknown. Give Mallory an opportunity to hide in a cat tunnel, a cat tree or simply a cardboard box. She welcomes petting and a massage on top of the head. Mallory's favorite toys are small fuzzy mice and balls. Her ideal home is one that is calm and small or start her out with a small space. Mallory gets along with other cats; therefore, it may be best if she has a cat buddy to chill with. She will tolerate cat-friendly dogs that don't chase her. Mallory is 1 year old with a long coat flaunting a tortoiseshell pattern with long white whiskers! Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. Tallulah can open pizza boxes and take-out containers. She will figure out how to get into paper and plastic packaging, especially ones that contain meat, cheese, bread or doughnuts. Tallulah is determined about helping herself to food or treats left unattended on the counter or stove. Tallulah's ideal home is with an individual, couple or family. Story
Mia is quiet, peaceful and serene. She is demure and modest around her human companion. Mia is delighted to be petted and will walk away when she's had enough. The noise of the vacuum cleaner and Mia's playful littermates do not get in her way to lounge around. Mia is independent and resilient, and simply content in her own world. Instead of batting around a fuzzy mouse, she chooses a windowsill to accommodate her favorite pastime -- quietly watching the birds, butterflies and the wind blowing tree branches. Mia's ideal home is with an individual, couple or family with a quiet and calm environment. She is perfect for the person who is not home often. Mia endures littermates Cooper and Lincoln; she will be fine as the only feline in the home. Mia will need a slow and proper introduction with a cat-friendly dog. She is a gray tabby with white and has a long coat. As of August 2024, Mia is 4 months old. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.COURTESY POST, NOT IN THE CARE OF TDR My name is Prince, I’m a 5 year old Main-Coon Mix and I’m “fixed”.  I’m very laid back and calm. I do get along with dogs, I usually just tell them to leave me alone and we’ll be just fine. But unfortunately I cannot stand other cats, not sure why that is. I am definitely a “people cat”. I will greet everyone and hope to be petted. I like to snuggle when I think it’s time for that and I will tell you when. I like to be brushed and clipping my nails is easy too. I do not scratch up your furniture, because I have my own chair for that and my scratch pads, etc. I am a little on the heavier side, but I’m working on losing a few pounds by eating healthier and walking around in the fenced in back yard with you keeping an eye on me. Even tho I love to be outside, I will not do my “business” outside, I take care of that in my litter box. I like to play hide and seek now and then. Look for me in cabinets up high or down below, or just on top of the fridge. I would love to stay with my Mom but she has to move back to Germany and she can’t take me with her. So, I’m looking for a new home and a new Mom or Dad I can love.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 12:38 pm

All animals are currently in MS. Mississippi is overpopulated with too many animals, not enough adopters, and many high kill shelters. For Pet's Sake Rescue saves each animal from a different background.  ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate. We do not DNA test. We rescue animals from different situations. We discuss breed assignments with our vets to label them as accurately as possible.*** For Pet's Sake Rescue transports animals to other states for better adoption potential. Our goal is to keep animals alive and out of kennels into their forever homes as quickly as possible. Each animal is quarantined and vetted during their time in our care. Each adopted pet is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and has current flea treatment unless otherwise noted.  You can visit our website at www.forpetssakerescue.org for our full adoption process and adoption application. Once we review your application and check your vet reference, we will contact you to proceed. If both parties agree to the adoption, we will send you an Adoption Contract with an invoice. Once the invoice is paid, your pet is "on hold" for you to pick up or we can transport the pet to a designated location closer to you via transport. Transports are arranged for specific dates. We will discuss these dates and locations with you during the initial phone call.  We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents. Any of our adoptable animals can be transported unless otherwise noted in their profile. View all of our adopted animals at www.forpetssakerescue.org ##2084737##
