Shelly came from an environment where she lived with about 40 other cats. She is very reserved, shy kitty who likes to quietly observe her surroundings from a distance. While she is not aggressive towards people, she is fearful. Shelly has lived in the shelter since April 2021 and is part of a bonded pair - her soul-kitty - is Flounder. They are yin and yang, inseparable and have not been apart in years. Flounder and Shelly need a home together. They are quiet, clean houseguests and while they will need time to adjust to their new surroundings, they won't be much trouble to their new family. PEACH has been described as a Princess. She is curious about newcomers and will approach to investigate. She takes a little bit to warm up, but once she does, she is a total love bug & enjoys being carried around. She has lived with a dog before but the jury is out on if she will tolerate another cat encroaching on her princess-ness. Not recommended to a home with small children. Lance and his littermates were relinquished to the shelter when they were just six months old. After proper socialization (and lots of treats!) he has blossomed into a sweet and gentle boy who would love to curl up in any lap he can. He greets everyone he sees with a big stretch and a paw reaching out for pets. Though he can still be shy and nervous at times, he will certainly come out of his shell with loving care (and treats, of course.) Dichali and her siblings were found outside in a local cat colony. After a little TLC, we learned that she is a beautiful girl with a personality to die for. Her name actually translates to "talks a lot", and it isn't hard to understand why once you meet her! Dichali loves to talk and let you know exactly what's on her mind (mostly, she just wants to be in your lap!) She's won the hearts of staff with her continuous purring, kneading, cuddles and kisses. Holland is the sassy queen of our shelter! Holland loves attention and runs up to greet anyone who enters her room. This purr machine prefers the company of humans only and loves to play.  Born about 2013, spayed, negative for illness. Would be best as the only cat.  Unfortunately, our Holland can be intermittently aggressive so she is considered one of our Sanctuary cats. Twister, Windy, Breezy and Gusty are 4 kitties that were born on a driveway on the Texas Mexico border on 4/7/2024 Twister and Gusty are 2 males who are all black and Breezy and Windy are 2 females who are all white. We have learned all white kitties only account for 5% of the kitty population, which is the rarest cat color. Not only are they quite rare, but they symbolize good luck and good fortune in cultures across the globe. Breezy and Windy are not deaf, every time they hear the treat bag, they come running to their foster in excitement. Twister and Gusty are very sleek black kitties, and SUPER affectionate. Their gorgeous soft fur and loud purring makes you just want to hold them close and cuddle. In some cultures, a black cat is considered very good luck and is known for their sophistication. They all seem to have short/medium length hair. It is not super short though; they’re VERY soft! These babies have grown up in foster and are SOOO friendly. Overly friendly the foster may say. They love to be in your face, in your lap and just all around you. They are obsessed with getting lots and lots of pets. They love to sleep on your pillows right next to you. They are very social, extroverted and outgoing. They show so much loyalty and like dogs, these 4 kitties form strong bonds with their foster, but they love anyone who will love them. They would make wonderful lap cats and keep anyone that works from home nice and warm. They all have been exposed to children and do great with them. Twister, Gusty, Breezy and Windy have all been exposed to dogs and they don’t mind them at all, small or large. They are around multiple other kitties and no issues with other kitties. They would be fine with other animals in the home or without. These kitties are just all around wonderful. They are intelligent, full of sweetness (no sass, surprisingly!). They love to lounge around and sunbathe by the windows. They would thrive in all types of homes as they don’t mind loud noises but wouldn’t be opposed to a quiet house either. Luca, Lola, Lilo and Lionel were all born around 5/2/2024 and are some of the friendliest kitties. These butterballs are all love and laps. They love to be around humans and while they do love to play, they also love to curl up on your lap, a cat tree, a windowsill or wherever they find comfortable, because well… they are cats, and they usually do what they want anyway. All 3 love to be in your face and right next to you – especially Lionel, the orange boy. He will be on your head, your neck, your face, anywhere he can be as close as he can to you. Lionel would be GREAT for anyone wanting a very needy, overly loving kitty. They are all litter box trained and they all have been exposed to other cats and dogs – of course with any new household we recommend slow introductions since everyone will just be meeting for the first time, but we know they can live in harmony with them 😊 These kitties would do great with children who know how to properly handle cats and understand they do like to climb, so make sure to get enough scratching posts and cat trees to keep them entertained and busy!
