Story
Calliope, named for her musical mew (or Callie, as her friends call her) is wide-eyed, prancing, and full of curiosity. She is very mild and just a dear little 5-year-old ball of floof who will knead your lap for hours if you let her. Callie is super snuggly and gets along great with all cats and people - especially if said people pull out her favorite toy, a wire wand with a little bell on the end that she will chase tirelessly. Callie will make a great addition to any cat friendly household and will especially enjoy any humans who love to play chase with their furballs. She has also been foster mom, including nursing, to several kittens and just seems to love aunty momming. With a new baby, travel and job requirements we are having to downsize our feline fam and just can't give her the attention she deserves anymore. We are rehoming Calliope with her adopted kiddo, Cone Snail (or Coney) as they are very close. (Coney is one of the kittens that Calliope aunt mommed, shown here.)

Story
Tunic has been diagnosed with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) here at KHS. FIV is one of the most common infectious diseases of cats around the world. In infected cats, FIV attacks the immune system, leaving the cat vulnerable to many other infections. Though there is no cure for FIV, recent studies suggest that cats with FIV commonly live average life spans. The primary mode of transmission for FIV is through deep bite wounds from an infected cat. Casual, non-aggressive contact, such as sharing water bowls or mutual grooming, does not appear to be an efficient route of spreading the virus. Wellness visits for FIV-infected cats should happen regularly. FIV cannot be spread to other species or humans, only to felines. FIV+ cats may go home with non-FIV+ cats so long as they are not fighting or inflicting serious bite wounds.Despite his rough exterior, Tunic is a very sweet, loving guy that just wants a quiet place to relax and be petted all day!🐾 Tunic is FIV+ Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 10.8 Age: 7yrs 1mths 3wks
