Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Our shy little orangesicle… Oyster spends most of her day hiding and napping. She is painfully shy, prefers to observe rather than interact and would prefer a quiet home with her sister Saltine, as that is where she would feel the safest. She doesn’t require much, just some hiding spots, food and water and to head boops you once in a while. Her future human will need to be patient with Oyster as she is very shy. If you are interested in Oyster, email: Nextchapterpetrescue@gmail.comWe are giving preference to those wanting both Oyster and Saltine. All of our kitties come vaccinated, speutered, microchipped, dewormed, and with all vet records. If you are interested in adoption please email us at: nextchapterpetrescue@gmail.comWe require an adoption application, a home visit and meet and greet before adoption.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 10, 2023, 12:18 am

Story
Oreo was found last Christmas when her owner unexpectedly passed away. The shelters were full, and a friend of a client begged me to take the cat in. She has been a a sweet friend and I have enjoyed her company but unfortunately my work schedule and tiny apartment do not meet her needs. There were no records on her and the first vet I took her to did not scan her for microchip, but she does have one. She’s about five years old according to the vet. Front declawed. She’s very sweet and loves to sit in the lap and also is very playful. She especially enjoys her window perch and watching the birds. I’m hoping to find her a home where someone can give her lots of love and affection and petting and play. I don’t know how she is around children or other pets. I would think a home without any pets and without very young children would be best. As a single woman and the fact that her owner was a single woman I would think a single person or a couple would be best.

Story
We found Karen in my backyard about 4 years ago. we searched for any lost pet posters and checked the vet to see if she had a chip, nothing was successful so i took her in. 2 years ago she started bleeding from her bum. the vet did an xray and found out she has IBS (Irritable bowl syndrom) and it causes her intestines to be swollen, resulting in bloody stool. shes not in pain to my knowledge, as i never hear any whimpers while she poops. they gave us meds which helped almost immediately, but theyre far too expensive for us too carry on. we have a 2nd child on the way and we just purchased a new home. shes a very strange cat, but lovey when she wants to be. i check marked that shes ok with dogs, but really its more so shes alright with them. she avoids my dogs when shes walking around if possible, but doesnt mind sleeping near them. like some cats, she has very specific spots she doesnt like being pet, and she will let you know with a quick paw bat. she does have claws still.

Story
Lady Marmalade's adoption fee has been SPONSORED! There is no fee to adopt her. Please be aware, though, that her ongoing medical needs can be expensive. Lady Marmalade was abandoned in the bushes outside of C-Snip. Kind volunteers took her under their wing and got her vetted and back to good health. She's so sweet, maybe a little scared at first but she has a cute little face and will make a great companion. The vet thinks she's about three years old. We have discovered that Lady M has pretty severe asthma. We are trying several different courses of treatment but are thinking inhaler medication is going to work the best. Any adopter will need to be committed to providing her with this for the rest of her life. Story
Tuck was originally adopted out in 2020 but was returned due to no fault of her own! She is friendly but confused as to why she is at the shelter again and no longer in her home. She would love to be in a home again where she can be petted and sleep on couches! Here was her original bio from 2020: This sweetie is Tuck! Tuck really does love people, it just takes her some time to get used to them. Very shy at first, but once she trusts you, she will take all of your snuggles! She gets along well with other cats. Take the time to get to know Tuck, you will be glad you did! --- All of our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites. --- Adoption center is located at 7962 CLYDE PARK SW, BYRON CENTER MI 49315. Story
Edgar came to FOF after being transferred from Lake County Animal Shelter. While he is an adult with an estimated date of birth being 2016, he is a very small kitty. Edgar does not mind being petted, but he also doesn’t mind keeping to himself. Edgar is on a special C/D urinary care food (Hills brand) and must be, but that doesn’t stop him. Food time is his favorite! He really loves wet food and is always excited when it’s feeding time! --- 'I am a Shelter Pull Kitty! This means that when you adopt me, FOF can pull another kitty from a high-kill county shelter. You can help us save TWO lives!' --- All of our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites. Story
MacGregor found himself at FOF after living the life of a stray cat. He is super friendly and loves attention! He isn’t afraid to meow for pets. MacGregor has a playful spirit and has lots of energy for chasing a toy or playing with the other kitties in his room. He loves wet food and feeding time. MacGregor is FIV+ but that has not slowed him down. FIV+ cats can live normal life spans too. His estimated DOB is 2016. MacGregor does come with his best friend and their story is below. A Bromance for the Ages: Two cats, both alike in dignity, in Focus on Ferals, where we lay our scene… MacGregor and Mr. Meowgi came to the shelter at different times from two different worlds. But as you can see from the photos, ever since these star-crossed kitties met, they have been absolutely inseparable. Not a day goes by where volunteers don’t see them laying together with bodies entwined, napping, nuzzling, or cleaning each other. As a result, we would really hate to separate them, and hope they will be adopted together. MacGregor is the older, wiser, and more worldly (FIV+) of the two. He loves Mr. Meowgi dearly, but he also loves his people—he craves human attention and will climb into your lap for pets. Mr. Meowgi, who we think is quite distinguished and exotic-looking, is the younger and shier of the two. He is still hesitant around humans and scared of quick movements, but he has gained a ton of confidence since meeting MacGregor. Now, he accepts and even enjoys pets (particularly if it is while he is snuggling with MacGregor)! These two have been with us, patiently waiting, for over a year. Now, we’ve made sure these tails won’t have an ending full of woe, but what we’d really like is to find them a great forever home. If you would like to be a part of their happy ending, please let us know! --- All of our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites. Story
We got him from a friend, he is about 2 1/2 years old. We are looking for a loving home, maybe one without another cat. He is very sweet, cuddly, crazy. He is neutered but he pees on things, i think it may be from stress from two young children and another cat in the home. They get along for the most part but he will go after the other cat sometimes.
