Story
Meet our beautiful house panther, Tasha! She is 11 months old and was found outside as a stray. Whatever she went through before finding comfort and safety within our rescue is unknown, but it definitely has made an impact on her. She's timid in new situations, and likes to feel secure and safe before opening up to new humans. Despite that, she does like to play with her kitty toys and her personality shines through once she knows she is in good hands! She loves soft and gentle pets but is not a fan of being held because it makes her feel unsafe. Tasha loves sitting on top of her perch on the cat tree and looking out at the world and watching the birds. She has a very beautiful soul and just needs some patience and time, as well as a very special cat lover as her forever owner. Could that be you? If you're interested in meeting our sweet Tasha, apply for pre-approval at michelesrescue.com! ##1914786##

Story
Bianca is your new best buddy! After her owner passed away, she spent an entire year(!) confined in a kennel before Michele's Rescue came into her life. She arrived to us very shy, agitated, and slept all day.   Fast forward to today, a month later, and she has blossomed in her foster home! She now purrs, is playful (a huge fan of the fishing toy and wand!) and seeks human companionship all the time. She's the perfect office kitty too and makes the workday go by fast! Bianca is a very sweet and docile kitty. Schedule a meet and greet today by applying at michelesrescue.com! ##2252740##

Story
Gypsy Female DSH tortie tabby Estimated DOB: 07/2023 About: Gypsy is a sweet girl who can be shy in new environments. She enjoys lounging around and getting pets as long as you go slow and give her some time to adjust. She's a young cat who we know has that kitten energy hiding in there, she just needs a little help gaining her confidence first. Backstory: Gypsy was transfered to us from a rescue on the east side of the state. If you'd like to meet her, she's currently in residence at the Happy Cat Cafe (www.happycatgr.com). If you are interested in adopting her, fill out an application at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Kelly is from our Charlie's Angels litter. Her approximate date of birth is 06/2024. Kelly is a sweet and playful girl. She loves to be held and cuddled. She is an absolute lover. She loves being held and watching TV with you. She's also playful and will give you purrfect love. She has a front paw/leg that is deformed and she ends up walking on her wrist. We had her evaluated at our vet. They said that amputation of the leg is not needed at this time. Eventually a callus will form and she should be ok. She gets around great and even uses the paw to climb the cat tree. The only reason is may become an issue is if she develops sores. Location: Kelly is currently in a foster home. She is spayed, microchipped, has had age appropriate vaccines, had been given dewormer and flea/tick treatment. If you are interested in adopting Kelly, fill out an application online at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Christian Male DSH grey Estimated DOB: 05/2021 Christian was a large tomcat living on the Westside when we trapped him and some other cats at a local business. While we originally planned to return Christian to his territory, we found out he seemed friendly to humans and decided to give him a shot at an indoor home. We ALSO found out he is FIV+ but that sounds much scarier than it really is. He can have a long and normal life like many other cats. It took several months but he finally seemed to have found his match. However, through no fault of his own, Christian (aka Greyskull) was returned to Fig and Friends Pet Rescue. Christian's human lost her housing and she decided the best course of action for him was to return him. He will thrive in a home with no other animals or small children. He is playful and loving and would really benefit from a forever home! Location: Christian is currently in foster Medical: Because Christian is FIV positive, he needs a low stress environment, quality food, exams at least yearly and proactive veterinary care to ensure he stays healthy. Because he has a compromised immune system, he'e not the type of cat that you try the "wait it out" approach if he's sick. Although FIV cats can be more prone to certain medical diseases, they more often than not live completely normal lives compared to their counterparts. As medicine has advanced, we now know that having FIV is not at all a death sentence like it had been treated as previously. These cats live comparable lives to non FIV positive cats and deserve a home and love all the same. We highly recommend finding a veterinarian who is comfortable with and knowledgable about FIV. Depending on their clients, FIV may not be something that every veterinarian sees regularly in their practice, so it can be daunting and they may not be familiar with the most recent guidelines for FIV cats and how they can live normal and healthy lives. You can leatn more about FIV through the American Association of Feline Practitioners' Feline Retrovirus Management Guidelines or from the Feline Veterinary Medicine Association's website and brochures such as this one! https://catvets.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/FelineVMA_FeLV-and-FIV-Broch_Web.2.pdf All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age approriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting, fill out an application at www.figandfriendspetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Mars Male DSH grey and white Estimated DOB: 04/2024 Mars is the last of the NINE planet kittens we took in that were dumped in a local park when they were about 2 months old. Mars is not very attention seeking, but he will snuggle with you, especially at night. He would do well in a home without children, but would benefit from other cats! He's a bit skittish and will run from you, but he will approach you if you're still and he looooves to play! He will adjust to a new home with some love and patience! Location: Mars is currently in foster Medical: All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age approriate vaccines (rabies and distemper), microchipped, given flea/tick prevention and dewormer, FIV/FeLV tested, and any other veterinary care that is needed prior to adoption.
