Story
Meet Persephone and Styx! This beautiful, bonded pair of 5-year-old cats has quite the story to tell. Once rescued from a high-kill shelter, these two were adopted out together as kittens, only to find their way back to us when their owner could no longer care for them. After some time with us, they’ve slowly begun to open up, finding comfort with a select group of people here. While they may never be lap cats, Persephone and Styx have shown they’re happiest observing life’s moments from a safe distance. That said, who knows what the future holds for this special duo? We believe that with time, patience, and a quiet, loving home, these two can truly thrive. If you’re the kind of person who understands the beauty of building trust at their pace, Styx and Persephone might just be the perfect pair for you. Are you ready to let them be themselves and build a one-of-a-kind connection? If so, these two are waiting to meet their special someone. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. Persephone is bonded to Styx and they must be adopted together. Please note, that we do NOT allow the declawing of any cat or kitten we adopt unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them. Story
Miss Kitty is an 8-year-old beauty who came to us when her human had a change in living status. We are working on building her trust  She has taken up residence in our kitchen and is usually found on top of the fridge or in a cabinet. This silly girl is looking for a patient home that is willing to work with her at her pace. The shelter isn't a good fit for her. Her person said she was slow to warm up, but after 6 months in the shelter she is still giving the cold shoulder. Her box of choice is very accurate. Brat instead of Brats! The majority of Miss Kitty's adoption fee has been sponsored! Her current adoption fee is $25 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.  Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. Story
Meet Sissy and Missy - These two beautiful 9-year-old front-declawed tabby girls have had their lives turned upside down after their beloved owner passed away. Sissy is the social butterfly of the duo and is adjusting much better to life at the shelter. She loves finding cozy napping spots but will happily come out to say hello and get some much-deserved scritches. Missy, on the other hand, is having a tougher time adjusting. She is very fearful of her new surroundings and has been seeking solace in hiding spots. We strongly believe that she will thrive in a loving home environment. It would be amazing if we could find a home for these two girls together. They have been through so much and deserve to find comfort and happiness once again. The adoption fee is $75 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. Story
Ziva is a very loving cat. It pains me to let her go but she has been getting multiple uti and the vet thinks maybe the other two cats we have stress her out. She’s had 2 teeth removed due to a bacteria dissolving them. We can’t afford to constantly take her to the vet for this and we are also moving out of state which could further stress her out. I want to find her a good home.
