Story
&#226&#128&#139We have such a sweet tooth for Choco Taco! This absolute gentleman is known for his easygoing attitude. He just wants to relax, befriend everyone he meets, and be right near his favorite people. When he wants attention he will gently wave his paw and lay on his tummy for belly rubs. He loves to play with small toys that roll around, and he loves to sit on the windowsill where he can watch the cars and people go by. Choco is a chatty cat, but he tends not to meow, rather communicate through soft chirps! He loves Churus, and a frozen Churu is his favorite cold treat (since he can’t eat real choco tacos). A curious cat, he could likely join a home with a more low-key and social kitty looking for a nap partner. While he hasn't been around kids, we do think he could thrive in a home with children due to his gentle and well-mannered behavior. Choco Taco takes daily medications to manage his asthma and seizures, and while these conditions need to be monitored, they do not affect him very much on a day to day basis. The most important thing is making sure that he gets his medication on a tight schedule, one which he has memorized and will remind you about with gentle chirps around 10 minutes before. Choco Taco is truly a delight in every sense of the word, and he would love to be your new best friend! He will also go home with a fabulous THREE MONTH SUPPLY CARE PACKAGE! Story
Meet Tom, the senior feline looking for a forever home to spend his golden years in comfort. This adorable cat is a devoted companion, delighting in following you around and providing endless company. His simple joys include indulging in delicious meals and snuggling up for peaceful slumbers. Staring out a window listening to the birds chirp and the trees rustle in the wind really amuses him. He also LOVES to wear his bow-tie. He makes a great snuggle buddy and is warm form day one. With a laid-back demeanor and minimal care needs, Tom is low maintenance, though he does require insulin for his diabetes, which is easy to give twice a day. Embrace the love and companionship of this sweet, loving cat friend! Story
Are you looking for a lowkey companion to keep you company? Flapjack is your guy! He loves to chill and occupies himself when his humans are away, but loves to cuddle up with them when they return. Flapjack is only a part time worker at the biscuit factory since he’d much rather prefer laying on his person's lap and being pet. When he’s not relaxing, Flapjack enjoys playing with wand toys, mouse toys, or watching birds out of the window. He likes to gift his owners while they sleep by bringing in his toys and making a pile of them beside the bed, for a surprise when you wake up. He is also a true gentleman and doesn’t jump on high surfaces such as countertops or tables. To truly know you’ve won over Flapjack, is to see him flop on the floor and roll around, showing you his belly. He may even allow a belly rub!  Flapjack is an adult male cat looking for a relaxed home. He wouldn’t mind another lowkey cat but would do best without dogs. More pictures and videos of this cute boy can be found on instagram @phillyfostermom. Flapjack came to PAWS with some swelling in his nose along with some chronic sniffles, but that has greatly improved on a once daily treatment! The same treatment helps manage a skin condition in his paw pads called "pillow foot." He would go home with a one month's supply of this medication. This sweet man promises he's worth the easy extra care he needs! Who doesn't love a warm Flapjack? Story
It's no fantasy, Elf is an playful and cuddly cat ready to find his forever home!    Elf is a silly cat who loves to find the most adorable napping positions while he snuggles next to you on the couch. Like most cats, Elf takes time to adjust to a new space and may be a little bit shy and hesitant at first. However, once he gets comfortable he will show you he is a total goofball! He loves his people and likes to follow them around the house, especially into the kitchen in the hopes of getting a treat. He is a sucker for scratches and pets, and it's hard to say no to him with those adorable eyes.      Elf is not the biggest fan of strangers so he would thrive in a more quiet home, preferably one that prefers game nights over ragers. He is mostly indifferent to the resident cat in his foster home, but sometimes will interact and play if he is in the right mood. Because of this, we think he could be a solo cat or go to a home with low-key resident animals. Elf is a little bit of a sniffly guy, but this is something we are aware of and is just part of who he is! Elf can't wait to find a family to play with and that will give him all the attention he craves!     Age: ~7 years old How I came to PAWS: Found as stray Animal ID#: A55690 &#226&#128&#139I am not at the shelter. Story
Mamma Mia, that's one sweet cat! Her foster mom says she's "Literally the best cat I’ve ever had. She is so kind and loving and loves to play. She's a gem!" Mia is an adorable and energetic young cat ready to find her forever home. Her ideal day is spent sleeping, playing with string toys, and her ideal night is spent curling up at the foot of the bed. Mia would thrive in a quiet home that provides her enrichment as well as comfortable places to hide. She also love watching the birds from a window sill. She is a very gentle a girl and makes a great bestie! Mia has a small limp due to an old injury which has since healed, but she doesn't let that stop her! Mia is also FIV and FeLV+ positive. Because of this she would thrive as an only cat, could live with other animals, or cohabitate with other calm FeLV+ cats!  Age: 1 year How I came to PAWS: Owner Surrender Animal ID#: A55710 **Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is a virus that is specific to cats that attacks and weakens a cat’s immune system. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives—with a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. In the past, cats with FeLV in shelters were euthanized as soon as they were diagnosed. PAWS takes a different stance: we enable FeLV+ cats to live out their lives in loving homes. For more information feel free to check out the FeLV FAQs we have available on our website!**  **FIV is specific to the feline species, and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. It is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting.** &#226&#128&#139I am not at the shelter. Please email adoptions@phillypaws.org to learn more about me! When she curls into a ball or watches the birds from my windowsill. Story
A social butterfly who adores being pampered with brushes and cuddles, Consuela gets along with everyone she meets, including other cat friends! At just a year old, she's also a big fan of playtime, and loves to frolic with catnip mousies and feather wands. She would love a sunny window to hang out, and of course, a human to love her as much as she loves you! Consuela was recently rocking a soft e-collar to help her manage her itchy skin. She's dealing with a mystery itchiness that our medical team has been working to get to the bottom of. While she is overall the happiest girl, our vets think her overgrooming may be related to anxiety. She's recently been started on an anti-anxiety medication, and so far it really seems to be helping. We're so happy that she's starting to get some relief from her itchy skin- and her e-collar, as adorable as she is in it! Her day-to-day care is very easy and we would send an adopter home with a 3 month supply of her medication!   In case her condition is exacerbated by stress, Consuela is looking for a calmer home while keeping an eye on her itchiness levels, to help keep her feeling her best! Consuela would also benefit from finding an adopter who is open to establishing her care at a full service vet asap post-adoption.   Can you help this super sweet lady? If you're looking for an adorable roommate, and can sympathize with that anti-allergy, anti-anxiety life, Consuela would love to meet you!
