Miss Kitty is patiently waiting for her forever home! She is a 6 month old, spayed domestic short haired kitten. Miss Kitty is a fearless explorer. Her perfect home will allow her time to adjust and spoil her with a basket of toys. She can never pass up the chance to leap through the air in pursuit of the cat wand. She is curious, confident and playful. Miss Kitty knows she's a beautiful fierce huntress and can be rather exuberant in her play so she's not a great match for small kids. Miss Kitty is in a foster home with teenage kids and she loves to play with the small resident dog. Like most cats, she requires a slow introduction to both dogs and cats, but she is young and seems to acclimate well to new environments. Sake is a 3yo male cat who has been through some rough times but is now on the hunt for his forever home. Originally adopted a couple of years ago, he found himself back at MADACC looking for a second chance at happiness with humans. Sake is a chatterbox. His foster mom can hold full conversations with him, so if you`re looking for a quiet cat, he probably isn`t it. Size wise, he is a bigger boy and will benefit from larger cat trees to hang out in and survey his new kingdom. Because he has some trust issues, we are looking for a home with no small kids or dogs. He is still learning appropriate cat behavior with other cats, but has a ways to go and would benefit from being the only cat in his home. His new humans will need to give him time and space to adjust to his life change, as change is not something he has shown he handles well. Patience and understanding are key with Sake.His favorite things are churu snacks, silver vine (like catnip,) and meal time, closely followed by head scratches. He also is a little funny in that he sashays around his foster room, making sure to rub up against everything, and everyone in the room. He will sit on laps briefly, but on his terms, as he has important cat things to do and explore. I had a home once because I am snuggly and like to be held. I like to be brushed too. I'll do best in a calm home because I have FIV. FIV, or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, is a condition that affects my immune system. I probably got it when I was a stray, and I'm told FIV is primarily transmitted through deep bite wounds. The risk of transmission to other cat or dogs is low if your household is a quiet atmosphere.  FIV is not contagious to people or other non-feline animals. All I ask for is a loving and understanding home where I can live inside and receive regular veterinary care to manage my FIV. FIV cats like me live long and fulfilling lives with proper care and attention. I believe I deserve a chance at happiness just like any other cat. If you think so too, come meet me today at HAWS. Phluffy is almost 10 years old. I have had her since she was born. Phluffy is a laid back cat who likes to lounge. In the evening she likes to cuddle by the side of her human companion if possible. Also she enjoys sleeping in little nooks or cubbies if you build one for her. She will have to be trained to respect your kitchen habits, or kept out of the kitchen when you are cooking, as her special diet and feeding time of twice a day w insulin has her seeking extra food whenever she sees it available; thus Phluffy requires a special human who is willing to adapt and be patient with her needs. She is a real sweetheart. She needs to be either an only cat or kept from other animals food in order to keep her proper blood glucose levels. Phluffy's health routine as a diabetic cat requires 2 insulin shots a day, 12 hours apart with a meal. She receives 5 units of insulin from a 3/10mL syringe 2x a day. A 100-U insulin glaring pen lasts her nearly 1 month at $23 (pic n save pharmacy).
