Story
Hey y'all, I'm Scarlett. I am a pretty 6 year old calico tabby. I think you could describe me as sweet and spicy, but heavy on the sweet. When I give you my face rub kisses, you can look at my big, gorgeous green eyes and also notice that I may be wearing eyeliner. If you're more of a toe bean person, I have both black and pink. Lots of cats will perform their "happy paws/biscuit-making," but how many can do the high step happy paw? Want to know what else I can do? I will sit and high-five you for treats. I can prove it. Come in and meet me. I will show you that I will be a very faithful companion. If you are interested in meeting me feel free to stop in during our Open House hours:  Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am-4:00pm.October 12, 2024, 12:52 pm

Story
My name is Daisy and I am a 7 year old "torbie," which means I am the perfect mix of tabby and tortoiseshell cat.  I am on the shy side and I would make a loving, quiet companion. Trust me, sometimes the reserved ones have the extra love to give.  If you come to meet me, my stunning eyes will draw you to me.  They are so green they almost glow!  When you relax in your favorite chair, you can count on me to join you on your lap.  I am looking forward to finding a home where I can spend my days relaxing and being myself. If you are interested in meeting me feel free to stop in during our Open House hours:  Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am-4:00pm.March 3, 2025, 11:08 am

Story
Urban is a dear boy who came to the shelter as a feral in April/May 2024 and it was clear from the start that he was very fearful of humans. He was taken into foster by a shelter volunteer (myself) to see if he could flourish in a home rather than be TNR'd back to the outside. For the first couple of months, he had a bedroom to himself where we would visit with him a few times a day. Little by little, he became more comfortable and hid from us less. Eventually, we let our own 3 cats visit with him at night. It is evident to me that he loves other cats. They were not as enamoured with him, though. He slowly started exploring the rest of the basement and soon made his way upstairs. He has been up with us all ever since. He is still leary of humans (especially when we are walking around), but is now enjoying pets and scratches at treat time. He LOVES treats. He drools for them as well as when he is pet. I believe he will continue to relax and trust the right humans. If our 3 cats returned his love, he would be home now. However, they have not been won over by his charm and sweetness and he deserves to be in a home with a cat or 2 that reciprocate his desire for cuddles. A relatively quiet environment is ideal - probably not with young children as he will be skittish for a while yet. He will require patience, understanding, and love. He deserves all of this and more.  December 22, 2024, 4:28 pm

Story
Beauty is a 4.5 year old spayed female who is a true green-eyed beauty on the inside as well as the outside.  Beauty is extremely affectionate and will most certainly curl up on your lap or in your arms.  You can also expect kisses from Beauty, and she will roll over for belly pets. Beauty would do best in a quiet, mellow home with “older” children (12+).  At the shelter she is a bit wary when chaos ensues, such as other cats out of their crates playing about and when volunteers come in to care for cats.  If it is too loud or busy, she likes to retreat to her crate where she feels comfortable and can watch from afar.  She loves to be cozied up in her cocoon bed. Beauty was previously an over groomer likely due to stress in her former home and being a bit anxious.  We have no doubt once she gets to her forever home and settled in with her family, this will subside.  If you are interested in seeing this “Beauty” firsthand, feel free to stop in during our Open House hours:  Thursdays from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturdays from 11:00am-4:00pm.February 28, 2025, 12:43 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Sake is a 3yo male cat who has been through some rough times but is now on the hunt for his forever home. Originally adopted a couple of years ago, he found himself back at MADACC looking for a second chance at happiness with humans. Sake is a chatterbox. His foster mom can hold full conversations with him, so if you`re looking for a quiet cat, he probably isn`t it. Size wise, he is a bigger boy and will benefit from larger cat trees to hang out in and survey his new kingdom. Because he has some trust issues, we are looking for a home with no small kids or dogs. He would be fine in a home with other cats, as long as they respect his personal space and proper introductions are done. His new humans will need to give him time and space to adjust to his life change, as change is not something he has shown he handles well. Patience and understanding are key with Sake. His favorite things are churu snacks, silver vine (like catnip,) and meal time, closely followed by head scratches. He also is a little funny in that he sashays around his foster home, making sure to rub up against everything, and everyone in the room. He will sit on laps briefly, but on his terms, as he has important cat things to do and explore. If you would like to meet Sake and watch him sashay, please email his foster mom at milwaukeecuratored@gmail.com to set up a meet and greet.
