Story
Meet May May, a sweet and social kitty who can`t wait to find her forever home! Every morning, you’ll catch her waiting at the window, keeping an eye out for the staff and volunteers to arrive. May May dreams of having a special person of her own to greet when they come home and she`s sure to keep you company. As a true social butterfly, May May loves eating with a friend and is happiest when she can share those moments with someone. You’ll often find her perched on her favorite window shelf but she’s quick to come down and greet visitors once they pop in to say hello. We think she’d absolutely adore having a cozy cat tree or a window seat with a view in her new home.At 6 years old, May May is more relaxed and low-energy, making her the perfect companion if you’re looking for a calm, laid-back kitty who’s past the kitten phase but still full of love. May May would do best as the only pet in her home, as she wants to keep all your attention to herself. If you’re looking for some companionship, May May is ready to go to her forever home. Don`t hesitate to stop in during our open hours or by appointment to see if May May could be the one for you. Story
Fig is currently in a foster home which has helped us learn more about her. She will be needing a calmer and more relaxed home. Fig has shown us what kind of kitten antics she can get into now that she has settled into her fosters home. Fig prefers to be loyal to her special person but with enough patience may let another person into her social circle. Fig enjoys peeking out the windows and will sometimes just be a tail peeking out from the curtains. Fig enjoys vertical scratchers so a home with proper places to scratch is a must. Due to her bashful behavior with unfamiliar people she will need a patient person who will let her warm up at her own pace. Story
Toasty is a friendly girl who loves attention, playtime, and soaking up the sun. As the official greeter in our shelter lobby, she enjoys welcoming visitors of all ages. Though she will occasionally be caught napping on the job (being this cute is exhausting!).Her favorite toy is small plastic springs! But she’d also love a wand toy partner to help her stay active. Toasty is interested in dogs and enjoys watching them playing in the yard or going by on walks from the lobby. She has done well with respectful, cat-savvy dogs, and we believe she’d be fine in a home with children. She even tolerates being picked up but will sometimes turn it into a playful game of chase!Toasty is looking for a home where she can be the only cat, as she prefers to be the queen of her castle.Health & Care?? FIV+ – While this means a little extra care, it doesn’t stop her from living a happy and healthy life!?? Special Diet – Toasty is on a prescription diet Royal Canin HP for life.?? Joint Support – She takes a daily supplement for Luxating Patella in one of her hind legs. Despite this, she has no mobility challenges and benefits from regular exercise to maintain a healthy weight. Please note:- Our website (www.neenahanimalshelter.org) is updated in real time, so we are accepting applications for all animals that are currently listed.-Applications can be downloaded from our website. Story
Sylvester is one handsome character of a cat! This mustached guy is the more confident of this dynamic duo and loved exploring alongside his brother, Trouble. He’s very curious and loved to be the first to greet new people at the door. Sylvester loves to climb, window watch, and cuddle. Sylvester’s foster mom has discovered he’s very talented and even plays fetch! He loves his treats, head scratches, and is always interested in what his human friends are doing around the house. He’d need to go to a home with Trouble since they help each other’s personalities shine! Sylvester is currently located in a foster home. Story
Don’t let Trouble’s name fool you! He`s a sweetheart who loves to cuddle with his brother, Sylvester, and his favorite people. He’s very curious and still has some kitten energy, and he doesn’t take long to come out of his shell with new people as long as Sylvester is by his side. He loves to explore and keep an eye on the neighborhood squirrels through any window perch he can find. Trouble loves playing with toys, especially stuffed animals. Trouble has built up his confidence and thrived alongside Sylvester, but has also lived with other cats and enjoys their company. Trouble is currently located in a foster home. Story
**Declawed cat** A few months ago we adopted the sweetest boy from the shelter, but it wasn’t a fit for our current cat or my mother in laws. We have tried everything, but unfortunately they can’t get along so we are looking to rehome him. I’m so sad to do this, but it’s what best for him. He is 7 years old, neutered, front declawed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has so much love to give. He loves to spoon your head, sleep next to you under the blankets, and watch squirrel videos on YouTube. Oh, and he has his own play cell phone because he always steals mine! He is honestly the perfect cat, minus not getting along with some other cats. I think he would be good as an only cat, or small, non-intimidating female cats. I just really want to find him the best home.

Story
Hello everyone, this is Yue. Yue means “moon” in Mandarin. She is a beautiful white cat with grey coloring on her head. She is kind and cuddly. Yue loves attention and is always looking to be on someone’s lap. She is great at playing catch and is a big giver of kisses. She also makes the sweetest chirps when she is happy! Medical conditions: Diagnosed with Chronic Stranguria possibly caused by Feline Idiopathic Cystitis. This means that she has chronic urinary issues which flare up when she is stressed, which is often. She uses her litter box but also inappropriately urinates on sofas, beds, and blankets during flare-ups. We adopted her a year ago, but our resident cat (also female) never got along with her. Yue gets spooked easily and her stress levels are always high. We believe her stress and urinary issues stem from not getting along with our resident cat. We are looking to rehome Yue to a loving place that will suit her better, so she is less stressed and can strive.

Story
Buoy(like a water buoy 🛟) is an almost 3 year old black and white cat. He is mainly black with a white bikini for markings. I acquired buoy when he was 6 weeks old from the hull of a boat that was being built. I’ve had him since and he is such a wonderful handsome man. He is a nonstop talker and has a great personality. Unfortunately Buoy is not a fan of children or loud households. He does take a while to warm up to people but will be your best friend when given a bit of patience. He did have a urinary issue when he was 1 year old but hasn’t had any issues since. (This is why he is listed as special needs but he currently does not have any urinary issues) He truly is such a wonderful cat. He does get along well with my two dogs (25 pound mutt and 6 pound chihuahua). He LOVES to play with feathers and his laser toy. *adoption fee will be donated to local shelter, it’s just there to make sure he goes to a good loving home*

Story
Skylar is a young adult, spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and has a registered microchip. Skylar loves to sit on laps, but she is a anxious cat, and sometimes doesn`t want you to stop petting her. We have found that she loves men more than women. In her previous home, she had 2 teenage boys that she just adored. But the next home, should be a home with no small children, no other cats and no dogs. Please give her a chance in your home. She really is a lovely cat.

Story
Hazel came to us as a skinny Momma. She raised her babies and all got adopted and Hazel has been waiting for her family since August of 2023. As a skinny mom, coming into our rescue meant she finally had food to eat. As a result she`s become a bit plump, but that doesn`t stop her from her zoomies around the cat roomShe loves to sit on a bench in our cat room, and make sure all the cats around her are behaving properly.Hazel would do better in a home as the only pet. She loves her people, but not a fan of other cats or dogs. She is a polydactyl cat, and has lovely front paw mittens.

Story
Helllllooooo my adoring people! My foster mama brought me to the vet gain even though she said we were going shopping for my Churu treats. Mama keeps saying that I’m adoptable and special. I agree with the special part! I’m the most special cat ever!! Mama and Daddy say I take my medicine like a big girl but I all I know is that they give me yummy treats a couple times a day. Those are my favorite!! Mama says I have something called structural epilepsy whatever that is. You see when I was rescued I was really sick and kept having the shakes which I couldn’t control. Mama took me to a lot of doctors and they poke and prodded me and kept saying what a cutie I was. They figured out what was wrong and said that I have to be on medication the rest of my life. That’s okay because they made the shakies stop so I’ve been enjoying my special treats every day. I run and play with everyone else. I know that mama says some day I will find a very special family that really loves me and they’ll take me home fur-ever. I really hope that they have a dog that I get to cuddle and play with!
