Story
MAD boy Cain is one of the most handsome Dutch Shepherds we’ve seen.  His heart and will to survive have seen him through extremely tough experiences, but he is now ready to shine for the right adopter. Cain was used as a fight dog, and arrived at his foster’s home with a leg injury, and a broken spirit and heart.  He trusted no one, wouldn’t let anyone near him for weeks.  Slowly but steadily, Cain has been learning how to trust his foster, be cared for, and now has a new excitement for life. This gorgeous guy has learned to be playful and is good with other dogs.  He is still fearful of new experiences, and especially of men.  He stays close to his foster mom and avoids other people at this time, but the strides he has made are heartwarming and he continues to slowly gain confidence. Cain is crate trained, house trained, knows sit and is learning down.  He is treat-motivated, which has facilitated his training. He is fine on a leash and has great recall.  He can also not only jump a 6’ fence but he can scale fences as well, so he will need extra attention for a while until he is not a flight risk.  His foster is now teaching him perimeter boundaries to curtail the fence jumping. Cain will need a female adopter who is very experienced with high drive breeds.  He needs ongoing structure, training and a patient, loving place wherein he can continue to learn trust and feel safe.  He has had a rough life, but deserves a great life now.  He needs his special person, who can give him the love and support he needs to thrive.    If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  All dogs come with a Fi tracking collar and a one-year subscription to the GPS service. Story
Mayhem is a high drive (and high energy) Long Hair (some call him a stock coat) Dutch Shepard. He is around a year old, but his previous life was extremely sheltered. When he first came into MAD he truely knew nothing. Everything was brand new and he was on sensory overload. Something as simple as a dove flying across the sky, a cat walking across the field, another dog barking, or even a stranger walking up to say hello was a threat that HE had to deal with. He would bark, growl, and lunge at the threat to make it all go away. A short 3.5 months later, with a some basic training, Mayhem is a different dog. When on leash he can walk past chickens running across the yard, inbetween the horses, and even greet the cat with a quick nose push. He loves to fetch a ball (or other toy) and drop it at your feet to have you throw it again (and again, and again). He loves to find "lost" items like his ball and bring it to you. He will also follow a scent trail that catches his interest to the very end to find the reward. He would excel at several working dog jobs. All he needs is someone that is willing to put the time in to polish his basic training and keep adding on to it. He can still be reactive to other dogs when they get too close and act aggressive. However, once he gets to know the other dog he will play with them for hours and follow them all over the place. He plays like a very young puppy. In fact, in almost all instances Mayhem behaves like a puppy because he had no training or socialization before he came to MAD. New people can be introduced fairly easily, especially if a wonderful food treat is given by the new friend. He loves his humans, but not recommended for young children as he really just doesn't realize how fast he can knock someone over.   What Mayhem is looking for is a human that can continue explain the world to him. He needs a strong and kind leader to tell him how to accomplish goals and show him just how amazing he can be. Someone to give him a job that will engage his very smart mind and agile body. It will take some dedication and time, but this dog is worth every minute! #madloveMayhem ##1995990##

Story
Paloma is a gorgeous female Dutchie who is a complete sweetheart.  We are guestimating her age to be about 3 years old.  This is from her Shelter eval:  Great with people, dog friendly from an accidental introduction, just wants to play, not reactive to other dogs, patient coming out of the kennel, walks with a lose leash, loves food, knows sit, wanted to work for food, interested in the tug toy just confused what to do with it once she got it, she was welcoming to being handled and leaned into the physical affection head/tail/body until her legs where she just checked out my hands, didn’t do anything but expected more love.  Curious about her environment, wanted to meet all the dogs, chill disposition until the cats, she barked tried to chase and jumped, I don’t think she would do anything once she had the opportunity to meet one but she was definitely trying to figure out what they are! She would need a structured introduction with them inside a kennel being calm to get her started on being ok. Definitely has prey drive We are looking foward to learning more about her as she settles in with her foster family. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and one-year subscription.  Bite work or protection training is not permitted for dogs adopted by MAD Rescue.  If you are interested in adopting this pet please complete an application at this link  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/24689/generic.  *********************************************************************** We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
